Description: The Sony CLI? PEG-S300 is a Palm OS-based, consumer-oriented handheld device.Compared to other consumer-oriented handhelds on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $200.You can expand the memory of this unit using Memory Stick media.
Pros: Weighs just 4.3 ounces weight, which is considerably relatively lighter than some similarly priced handhelds.In fact, the average cost of a product with this light a weight is $255.
Cons: Has only a 4-bit, 16 gray level display, which is considerably less favorable than some similarly priced handhelds.For example, the Palm M505, a Palm OS-based handheld at around $175, has a 16-bit, 64,000-color display.Also, this handheld only has 8 MB memory.This is not out of line with the product's price, but is less than the average handheld on the market today.
Suitability: A consumer-oriented handheld, suited for every-day use.Also, its display, supporting 16 shades of gray at 160x160 resolution, makes it barely passable for viewing black-and-white or grayscale images.
Value: Given its relatively inexpensive price, this handheld has good features for the money.Note that a similarly capable PDA could cost as much as $230.
