"Fun but lacking"
Pros: The drums are a blast!
Cons: Where's my money at?
Summary: The overall game is lots of fun. Some of the songs are a bit obscure though. And the lack of the clicking on the strum bar takes some getting used to. I played on medium, and it seemed really easy, even on some of the tougher songs. The mic is fun, but you don't have to have any talent to sing along. I even devised a mic stand so we could sing while playing another instrument. The drums have so much potential, I've only played them on easy, and have lots of room to improve, but at least you can look forward to replaying with them.
The lack of money and characters really takes away from the game in my opinion. The only thing to strive for is more stars, and points. We beat the (band mode) game in about 11 hours of game play, and some of that time was used on solo careers when another band member wasn't available.
I'm hoping for expansion disks since there isn't downloadable content for this version of the game. And hopefully the expansions will include some of the missing content. Otherwise I see this game getting pushed to the wayside by many players.
Overall, a fun game. But I wish I'd have had the money for a next gen system and that version of the game.
