"Insanely difficult, but extremely rewarding" on by Kemnti
Pros: The game challenges and pushes you with a fun, but intricate combat system. All the different paths of combat are reasonably equal, with each having it's own specialties and failures. The rewards for victory are worth the pain of death.
Cons: Demon's Souls is brutally difficult, and will reward the slightest mistake with death. The music used for the opening cinematic is rather bad. There is the occasional character model glitch, though such occurrences are reasonably rare.
Summary: Demon's Souls is fun, challenging, and rewarding, but I suggest anyone playing the game simply skip the opening cinematic. The music is pretty bad, although the fight-scene does look reasonably cool. Most of my complaints from a gameplay perspective, assuming you play online, is the presence of the Black Phantom mechanic. Any time you allow other players to invade someone's game and make it harder for them, you run the chance that people are going to find ways to utterly demolish those who aren't designed for the PvP combat. Demon's Souls is no different, so I suggest playing in Offline Mode until you've overcome the fact that death is a common occurrence.
