"Awesome Racing Sim"on by Atlsham
Pros Graphics are excellent. Cars are awesome. Very easy game to play even for a rookie. Love the different tracks.
Cons I wish it had more Nascar tracks on it then just the two.
Summary One of the best racing sims I have played.
Pros Simply put this game has the best driving mechanics of all time ...... The premium cars do look spectacular and the number of sheer content is very good
Cons The standard cars , wich make up 80 % of the cars in the game all look like something taken from GT 4 , ok they looked great back in the day , but after seeing Forza , PTR 3 and 4 , Need for speed HP , these cars look awful
Summary This game is fun when everything is in place , that is when you are driving a premium car , on one of the better tracks of the game , listening to your custom Soundtrack ....but every other time the game is just a dissapointing effort ........ Gran Turismo never had the level of competition that it has today , now its the time when Poliphony should have really push the genre forward .....instead it almost feels like Gran Turismo 4.5
Pros Solid selection of vehicles, including some wonderful classics.
Good array of tracks, including Le Mans and the Nurburgring
Cons Lame/nonexistent simulation of effects of damage
No penalty system for aggressive/sloppy driving
Many of the 1,000+ cars are pointless variations on a handful of unremarkable models
Long load screens follow virtually every click between races
Summary Despite the very long wait since the previous iteration, many things in the game just seem not quite right. Lack of consequences for driving overly-aggressively or basically cheating undermine game's claim to "simulation" status - you can basically play bumper cars with walls and other cars with no penalty (& often to your advantage). Forza for the XBox does many things better. Still, it's a game worth giving a whirl - it's a joy to take your Maserati or Audi onto the Nurburgring and try to finish under 7 minutes.
Pros AI much improved, as the physics as well.
Being able to build your own tracks and courses
Cons Some features are locked out (ie full racing transmission, being able to change individual gear ratio's is locked out until a certain level. Very frustrating)
Summary Bottom line: I've played Gran Turismo since the first one back in 1998. It keeps getting better and better every time I play the newer version. It's worth the $$ for the game. It's fun, you can drive like a god and not have to worry about your insurance company dropping you! LOL :D
