  • "worst xm radio ever created"
    on by inspg007

Pros don't like a thing about it, more cross over station talk than listening to the xm
cost too much (75) to keep changing over to another radio especially after
spending 300 for a membership... what a way to get bent over

Cons worst radio ever made, cross over radio stations over ride the station you listen
too, might as well throw the thing in the river you would get a better relaxing sound.

Summary trying to find the company that makes this p.o.s. and see if they have anything
to stand behind the radio with. what a piece...

  • "Run from this POS - a must not buy!"
    on by imjackb

Pros Can not realy think of any

Cons Locks up about 50% of the time

Summary I've had this piece of junk for about a year now. About 50% of the time it locks up on start up and must be reset by simultaneously pushing the mode and power buttons. Sometimes you have to reset it about a dozen times before it takes effect. I updated the firmware and that had no effect. I cannot believe they are still selling them with the problems this thing has. I've had it for a year now and will be trying to find something to take its place soon. That should not be hard. Delphi is selling a loser here and should take it off the market!

  • "Simple, cheap, GREAT! But make it reliable!"
    on by charlostrock

Pros No frills, no fancy graphics, no color display since it is a RADIO to be HEARD and not LOOKED AT! Simple, straighforward to use. You can store some tunes to liste to later, overall very good value.

Cons i-phone wanna-be with no simple access to battery. Unreliable: sometimes it takes minutes to figure out you've changed a channel, display totally out of sync with what you hear.

Summary I was originally very pleased with the product: affordable, nothing fancy, and you can take it anywhere. First issue is that it is design as a go-everywhere system, but XM has decided to make it car-centric, so if you want to use it at home, office or on the go you need to fork out some serious cash for some transformers and a stand or a fancy pair of headphones; how expensive could this stuff really be, honestly!? You want to reduce costs XM? I'm sure there's bizillion systems out there that you can piggy back on for this kind of equipment! You've got the satellites out there, that's good, now get back to the ground level basics, literally!

I used my unit for about six months with some glitches, but not many. Then, the unit has reached self-destruct mode in a hurry: it would take minutes to catch up to a change in channel or going forward/backwads on a recorded song. Many times it would just freeze, with the only solution being to crack the back open and eject the battery for a couple of minutes. Then, it appears the tuner just gave out. I mean, radio receivers have gone through how many generations? Isn't it possible we could get a cheap tuner that actually has a lifetime greater than a couple of years?

So, XM may be going under any minute now and the equipment they are standing behind is junk. Funny, I just got a cellphone with the option of getting XM and I'm so bitter about this hardware that I'm thinking of getting an internet radio add-on rather than staying with the XM service....

  • "Great inexpensive to add Sat radion to home and car"
    on by DanChamp

Pros I like the large screen easy to use, Instructions were easy to understand
Like the fact that I can install an micro sd and it turned my older vehicles with am fm only to cars with sat radio and better than cd's I can use mp3's for what I want.

Cons none I liked everything about it

Summary I like the ease of use and the price with XM canada promotion was 50$ shipped
    I can't complain!!!

  • "Junk -- locks up frequently"
    on by donduffy13

Pros Good receiver -- WHEN IT WORKS!

Cons Locks up repeatedly in car cradle. MUST power down the radio and remove from cradle before shutting off car or it WILL lock up the next time you start the car.

Summary Bottom line: Delphi either A) knew about the problem (how could they not know?) and decided to foist this thing on the public rather than spend time and money to fix, or B) Delphi engineers and managers are idiots and crooks. Probably both. DO NOT BUY.
