"Panasonic offers a GOOD unit...."
Pros: Battery life, adjustable screen, volume control
Cons: Somewhat grainy screen
Summary: I just purchased this DVD player and have mixed reviews. Overall size is perfect and very compact. I actually thought it was going to be bigger than it was when it arrived. I bought this model because of the great reviews it had received online. I must admit that I was a bit disappointed with the screen resolution when I popped a DVD in, though. The text on the screen wasn't smooth, and resembled an old CGA computer monitor (if you know what they are...). Brightness and color controls offer plenty of adjustment, as does the adjustable screen arm. Battery life is rated at 6 hrs. (lowest Brigtness setting), but I'm guessing it will be more like 4. I don't really care as I can easily plug in the provided car adapter. Sound quality is very good and pretty loud for such a small unit. I was satisfied with the overall picture quality, but I must admit that I was expecting more. After I received this unit I went to Circuit City and looked at a Samsung and Polaroid. Although they didn't seem as nice, or offer as many adjustments, they did seem to have a higher resolution screen.

You might try another one because the picture on the one I bought is fabulous. Of course, we are watching Disney videos, so I can't say how it would look with real characters (smile). I was actually amazed at how well such a small device could deliver such a good picture. I looked at others in the store and a couple had a comparable picture, but I liked the size of this screen and was not so sure about going with brands I really hadn't heard of before, so I stuck with a name I have used in my house for years. So far, so good. Although I wish it had the video inputs that it's higher priced sisters have.
