The DVD-LX8 is capable of playing back DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-RAM, DVD-R2, video and audio CDs, MP3, WMA, and CD-R/-RW3 discs. It also supports HighMAT (High-Performance Media Access Technology), a technology co-developed by Panasonic and Microsoft for arranging and using personal music, video and photo collections on recordable discs, such as DVD and CD recordable media.
The DVD-LX8 features a 9-inch (diagonal screen measurement), LCD 16:9 high-resolution VGA screen and employs the Mono Arm concept, with an adjustable arm that allows for increased options when choosing a viewing angle. The DVD-LX8 also features built-in stereo speakers, a playback time of 2.5 hours and multi-format playback.

I've owned the LX8 for about a year now and couldn't be happier. The screen is not only bight but the image quality is outstanding. Lie I said the only complaint I would have is the price. It is expensive but this is the best portable dvd player on the market. You get what you pay for. The battery life on this thing is about 4 hours. Thank you Panasonic

awesome picture; great soundby - January 12, 2005
Pros: picture is perfect. sound is good. other posting about viewing angle is exagg. it's pretty good.
Cons: 2nd headset jack would be nice -you CAN share it. surface scratches easily-but so do all others. Reliability is unknown...3 mos old.

Pros: Sharpest picture of any portable DVD player.
Cons: Must be viewed exactly head-on. The view angle is so sensitive that even a person sitting directly next to you cannot see the screen without substantial loss of clarity.

Best picture quality on the marketby - September 1, 2004
Pros: This is the first Portable DVD I have purchase but after looking at all the rest I settle for the best. The picture quality is outstanding it plays everything I've put in it so far.
