The SD-P2700 incorporates the Toshiba exclusive Digital Direct LCD Drive that minimizes conversion artifacts by streaming the video signal directly from the MPEG decoder to the LCD screen driver in the digital domain, thus bypassing the D/A-A/D conversions that may deteriorate quality. This, coupled with a 1024 x 600 resolution screen, produces the finest picture quality in a portable DVD player. Additionally, the SD-P2700 hosts a full complement of audio and video connections for quick and easy playback through virtually any existing home theater system. These include Super ColorStream Pro Progressive Scan Component Video Outputs, a standard S-Video connector, and a digital audio output. A solid player
Pros: 8.9 screen size is great - it very cinema-like from the airplane food tray. Picture is very good + sharp. Battery life seems good so far.
Cons: Blacks could be a little . . . well, blacker. I wish it had a contrast adjustment. Internal speakers aren't very loud.

A competent portable
Pros: The picture is great (don't know what that other guy is talking about). The screen is a great size. Battery life is good. Audio modes are helpful.
Cons: Screen is fussy about viewing angle - especially as far as tilting it forward/backward. Internal speakers not very loud (they never seem to be on portables). Blacks in picture look more like dark grey.

Quality Extremely Poor
Pros: Swivel screen, ease of use was good
Cons: Picture unclear, sound terrible, screen small for size of unit, price way too high. If I had seen this unit before I purchased it, I wouldn't have paid $10 for it. $5 maybe I'd consider it.
