Pros Voice sounds clear enough. Good and handy for those who want to listen to a lot of speech/sermon/audiobooks.
Cons - Too bulky for light travellers. About the size of 2-3 mugs, slightly longer.
Summary I owned an Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker before, so I know what to expect. I also owned Edifier USB al-cheapo speaker before tossing it away. I can say it sounds much better than Edifier, but not as good as my notebook speaker (Compaq, JBL speakers). I didnt factor the size when thinking of travelling, now I regret of buying this. I should have opted the one-speaker version, the ultraportable.
As for USB connector, I got myself a USB-4AA battery holder, which can be used to power the speakers while on the go, so USB is a useful thing to me.
As for music listening, I must say it isnot going to give you full pleasure listening coz the sound lacks "power". Can't and shouldnt' expect much music power ("punch/kick") from a USB powered speaker.
Pros great performance for the price. used it to listen to music and watch videos during my travels. excellent also for voice. voice comes out naturally when im using Cisco soft phone, skype and yahoo. excellent also for enhancing the sound on my LCD TV..
Cons wished that the power switch is push button..
Summary excellent performance for its designed purpose.. cheap but not crap!
Pros Low priced, loud output, clear crisp sound, USB powered, attractive design.
Cons lack of bass.
Summary Good speakers for laptops. Those who want low budget desktop speakers with good sound quality can buy these speakers too. USB powered so there is no need for A/C outlet, avoids clutter. Power on/off button. The only con is the lack of bass. But the overall sound quality is very good.
