"Alltogether a good product and would recommend it!" on by cracky6711
Pros: 1) Looks Nice
2) Good compatability
3) Good build quality
4) Long battery life
5) Extremely portableCons: 1) Sound quality!
Summary: I have owned a set of these speakers and i seem to think the complete oppisite to these other reviews! It is a very stylish speaker system, which looks really sleek. I have never had any problems with the buttons on top, my iPods (i have tried the iPod nano 3g, iPod touch 2g and 4g) all work perfectly fine with it, plus the dock charges them for me which is a great help! The remote is a really helpful feature and i use it alot, although i would say the build quality of the remote isnt up to par with the rest of the system.
On the contrary to other people, i do not feel the sound quality is anywhere near worth $110! My brother recently bought some Creative speakers for his laptop, but often uses them for his ipod and i am far more impressed with them, and they cost less than $50! However they do not charge his ipod, come with a remote and are also not portable so i guess you pay for that with the dock. The battery is great aswell! I almost allways have it plugged in, however when i do move it it lasts for a good 4-5 hours before running out! Alltogether a great product, shame about the sound quality but to be honest i was always extremely happy with it untill i heard the creative speakers. I guess once you hear something better you don't fully appreciate the original. -
"Great sounding Ipod Speaker" on by Minetzke
Pros: Great Sound
Easy on the eyes
Great Radio receptionCons: Short battery life
Strong dislike of the buttons
No "Line Out"
Silly Antenna setup (cable)Summary: I used to own the IM600 and loved it. But the I-Touch 2nd gen can't be charged with it (ticked off by that b.t.w.)
The iMT702 has great sound, which is after all the main reason for buying it!
but could be better by:
Extending the battery life, and the range of the remote control.
re-vamping the buttons (as well as the control location)
get a handle on things (for carrying)
- Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, as for me, the Sound of it is what made me pick it, and I can't find a better sounding system in this price range! -
"Not bad. It's an iPod dock afterall." on by electrofuz

"The A/L iMT702 is a great unit for the money." on by nrsullivan
Pros: For its size and convenience of this speaker system, this is a great sounding unit. It's priced fairly too. I also like the design of the system. This is an especially nice system if you own an iPhone.
Cons: I use the iPod Nano 3G most of the time and for some reason, the EQ on the iPod gets reset to "off" every time I turn the system on/off or remove/replace the iPod to the cradle. To get the bass this system is capable of, you need to set the iPod EQ.
Summary: Other than having to reset the EQ, this is a nice sounding system capable of good sound reproduction inside or outside of the home. Maybe some of the other iPods don't have this problem, but it's aggravating. Hope A/L will have a solution to this some day.
Also, if you are an iPhone owner, this system is really designed for you. My wife is in the market for an iPhone and maybe I'll have an update based on her experience soon.
Lastly, I have read where some say that the technical service provided by A/L is sub-par. That HAS NOT been my experiece. Based on my gripe about the EQ, they sent me a replacement in short order. The replacement had the same problem, I reported it to A/L and they said they are working on it. I can't ask for much more than that. -
"Buttons impossible to use, not consistent with iPhone" on by ebinezerpeople
Pros: Sounded good
Cons: Buttons on top are always being activated by accident.
Consistently had trouble connecting my iPhone 3GS. It would recognize the device but not play music and then blocked even the FM function until I powered on and off.
Mesh feel on speakers.Summary: Returned the unit after about 1 day of frustration.
Looking to find a more consistent, sturdy unit.
