Pros Portability, cool gadget
Cons Sound, price, quality
Summary I exchanged this one & got the JBL. Only buy it if portability is the most important feature.
Pros Excellent volume, great sound. Unbelievable for a 4AA powered unit. Not as good as my high end home stereo, but way better than any other AL or other brand portable Ipod unit. Looks great, folds to the size of a paperback and case is included. For an
Cons Has dual on/off switches that create an extra step when turning on ot off.
Pros Amazed by the included accessories. Comes with a remote which is very handy for changing songs, pausing or adjusting the volume. Also includes international adapters which is a big plus for travelers and the ability to input sound from another device ot
Cons For the price the sound is awfull. I purchased the original inMotion and returned it because I wanted the remote and adapters..I was surprised at the drastic difference in sound quality. Bottom Line: Save your money and go with the original inMotion.
Pros seemless fit for ipod, attractive, remote
Cons price considering performance
Summary There are much better alternatives out there, especially if you dont need to lug this around all the time. The sound in my opinion was good but not worth even half of its retail price. Unfortunately, there are not too many truely portable alternatives out there. If you don't need true portability, I'd recommend the Zvox 315 which rivals the Bose sounddock in sound quality and its less than $200. it doesn't have a dock and its footprint is a little bigger, but so what? the sound rocks with only one speaker box component. check it out, you wont be disappointed and with the money you save, you can buy a dock if you need it.
Pros great package, nice setup, looks great, nice pleather case for travel, nice remote
Cons didn't work as expected
Summary I bought the most recent version of the im3 that claims that it was ipod photo compatible. Although it seemed to fit, something was just not correct. I really had to play with the ipod, kinda force it down to get it to emanate sound. This was disappointing, and I though that maybe it was my ipod photo, so I got my wife's and it was the same thing. Then we went over the ipod photo doc I have hooked into my stereo and voi la, it fit perfectly no extra pressure needed.
The sound I heard was nice, I was pleased with that. I played with the remote, and it controlled the volume of the speakers fine, but it didn't control the ipod at all. It drove me nuts. I went to the website, I looked to see if I had the wrong ipod updater. No dice. So with a heavy heart I took it back.
