"It's called the Travelsound for a reason" on by chardk1

Pros: For the size and price, sounds awesome

Cons: However, tiny $70 speakers can only sound so good.

Summary: I've owned a CT for about a year. If you travel a lot it is an invaluable companion to your notebook or portable DVD player. It sounds remarkably good for a unit so small. However, now that I don't travel so much, I'm finding that the sound and output are so-so for regular home use. Still, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product for people who want something that sounds decent and is very easy to tote around.

    Updated
Just to add to the original opinion, I want to make clear that the sound quality is really quite good (minimal bass, but that should not be surprising) and miles above what's built into my Toshiba portable DVD player and Toshiba notebook. Also, it's totable and quite handy when you want to plug in your mp3 player for a quick music or audiobook fix whereever you happen to be. In fact, I think it's almost ideal for audiobook use -- I don't like to wear headphones in the house, it feels oddly antisocial somehow. OK, I'm just old but some people must feel the same way!

Still, it's got no bass, little stereo separation and distorts at quite moderate volumes (forget using it in the minivan on the way to Vegas, you won't hear much over the road noise). If you spend a lot of time in 1) a hotel room or 2) a dorm room and want a clear (if moderate) upgrade over your laptop speakers, the Travelsound should fit the bill. If you like carrying being able to listen to audible anywhere in the house, this should also fit the bill. Anything beyond that is probably pushing the performance envelope.

"Overall A great portable speaker" on by dan_volpe

Pros: Sound quality is excellent definitely much better than altec's imotion, they are very compact making them one of the better portable speakers

Cons: Lack of docking station, found I was at times getting feedback from the connection from the ipod to the travelsound

Summary: I am glad that I bought the travelsound over the IMOTION speakers. The quality of sound is better although the design is not as nice. For the price this is one of the best portable speakers you will get

Pros: Compact, foldable & packs a punch

Cons: Why didn't I get this a year ago?

Summary: This incredible sounding piece of perfection is just screaming out "Buy Creative stock!'. It filled a 90m2 hall with awesome acoustics. I just can't believe I bought such an incredible piece of equipment for less than USD80. People - don't ask any questions, just get it.

"Best sound from my pocket" on

Pros: I wanted loudspeakers that played from my pocket to practice dancing. I tested this product, and the Sony SRS288 and Panasonic RP-SPT70 speaker systems. With all 3 I used MP3 player software in my Palm Tungsten T3. The Sony speakers were no good because t

Cons: When I compared the sound of all 3 speaker systems, the Sony was slightly better, because it contains digital compensation for the distortion of its small speakers and special internal channels to enhance the bass. Noisy MP3 music sounded the worst on the

    "Sounds great at first..." on

Pros: Compact size, easy to use, sounds good at first...

Cons: No autopower off, exposed speakers vulnerable to damage...volume control not intuitive. Speakers blew at modest sound levels.
