"It's called the Travelsound for a reason"
Pros: For the size and price, sounds awesome
Cons: However, tiny $70 speakers can only sound so good.
Summary: I've owned a CT for about a year. If you travel a lot it is an invaluable companion to your notebook or portable DVD player. It sounds remarkably good for a unit so small. However, now that I don't travel so much, I'm finding that the sound and output are so-so for regular home use. Still, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product for people who want something that sounds decent and is very easy to tote around.Updated
Just to add to the original opinion, I want to make clear that the sound quality is really quite good (minimal bass, but that should not be surprising) and miles above what's built into my Toshiba portable DVD player and Toshiba notebook. Also, it's totable and quite handy when you want to plug in your mp3 player for a quick music or audiobook fix whereever you happen to be. In fact, I think it's almost ideal for audiobook use -- I don't like to wear headphones in the house, it feels oddly antisocial somehow. OK, I'm just old but some people must feel the same way!
Still, it's got no bass, little stereo separation and distorts at quite moderate volumes (forget using it in the minivan on the way to Vegas, you won't hear much over the road noise). If you spend a lot of time in 1) a hotel room or 2) a dorm room and want a clear (if moderate) upgrade over your laptop speakers, the Travelsound should fit the bill. If you like carrying being able to listen to audible anywhere in the house, this should also fit the bill. Anything beyond that is probably pushing the performance envelope.Updated
