"I love this iHome"
5.0 starson by ANeonTigerPros: Bluetooth support
App support
Time Sync
Dock all sorts of apple products with their case on
Bongiovi Acoustics, I truly do think it helps sound quality
RemoteCons: I wish the speaker cover wasn't a fabric. It would hold up better if it was metal like on the older ones.
The legs it stands on are uneven on mine. It can rock back and forth a little bit.Summary: This iHome is nothing special if you don't have an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Without the app support it would not be worth the money. It sounds pretty great, but it is no Bose. It doesn't cost like a Bose though either. And adds lots of features. The ability to dock your device with just about any case on is something I love.
Without App:
Some iHomes have two alarms that are setable, but they don't let you pick all the options for what you want to wake to. It really bothered me on my old iHome that you couldn't just set alarm 2 instead of 1 to change the time really quickly. I basically wake up at 2 separate times during the week. This one lets you wake to your iPod on either alarm or both. The nap feature is really cool. I often take naps between classes, it makes it really easy to set an alarm to go off 30 minutes later by just pushing the nap button until you get to the time you want. Sleep is a great feature. I love to fall asleep to music. The fade out as you near the end of your sleep time is nice.
With app:
You can still use all the on-board features, but it gets infinitely better. The firmware on the iHome itself can be updated with the app. With the app, you can set as many alarms as you would ever need. You can set them to repeat on whatever days you needs. Even weird combos are possible. It is really cool to wake up and see the weather forecast for the day. The app will also log your sleep times. It tells you how many hours of sleep you get and an average. You can look pretty far back into the log. It will post to twitter and facebook when you wakeup/go to sleep. I don't really use that, seems like it would just be annoying. The iHome is also very aesthetically pleasing. I love this thing. I loved my iH9. Then I got an iP47, hated it. And now I love SDI again.
