  • "This thing is smoking Hot!"
    on by taprackflip

    Pros Awesome Sound

    Cons Batteries are not rechargable

Summary The imaingo is smoking hot. It fits all ipods. It puts out great sound out of a little box. I take it everywhere and instead of using the power on switch, I set it to alarm, that way the unit turns on when the ipod is on and turns off when the ipod is not playing! SMOKING HOT!

  • "Well-constructed, but speakers buzz, poor battery input"
    on by RogLau

Pros Solid case, quality materials, clear plastic window makes using iPod Touch easy to turn on and off.

Cons Have had for 2+ years, used occasionally to play bird calls. Speakers began buzzing a year ago, if volume set over half. Speakers now buzz when volume set over a third, distorting bird calls and rendering it barely useful. Battery compartment is hard to s

Summary Case is quality construction, speakers are not. Shouldn't be buzzy after only occasional use (used 10 times a year or less, for 15 min. intervals). Batteries should be input side-by-side, not 2 on 2. I would not buy this again or recommend it. Does the iMainGo X improve on these problems?

    Updated on Mar 19, 2011

I'm improving my rating of the iMainGo (I have an iMainGo 2 actually) from 2.5 starts to 3.5 stars. After seeing another review, I realized the speaker buzz is due to weak batteries. I put fresh batteries in and speaker buzz disappeared completely. I use rechargeable batteries, which are trickier to keep fresh than non-recharge ones. The on-off switch feels fragile, and care is needed to turn it to the "on" position, not the "alarm" mode. The velcro strap holding the iPod is has been sturdy. Battery input is still tricky, and it's easy to bend the compression springs holding the front pair of batteries as you try to stuff the back pair of batteries in place.

  • "Nice speakers if you have an ipod"
    on by mkoehne

Pros Decent sound, a bit on the large side.

Cons Non-ipods owners BEWARE! Major pain to insert/remove MP3 player or ipod.

Summary I bought 2 of these from Woot, one for my iRiver H10 and one for my son's ipod nano. Tried it with my iRiver 1st. Sound is good up to about 3/4 volume. Decent bass response. Beyond that volume, VERY buzzy. And if I strap the H10 into it, I can't access the on/off or song scroll buttons. Sooooo... It's sorta worthless...

Son's ipod fits nicely, sounds decent, and is fairly well protected by the case..

  • "Great product! Just what I wanted for music portability."
    on by lafcom

Pros Compact, battery run - works anywhere.

Cons Some sound distortion @ low volumes on some cuts.

Summary Excellent! I'm showing it to everyone. Everyone wants to know where to get it.

  • "The best truly portable speaker system on the market"
    on by guru59

Pros The sound is amazing and it is so small

Cons I cant not thing of any

Summary The Imaingo is Great. This small speaker system is the best one on the market it so portable and it sounds truly amazing, you will not believe that this big sound is coming from this small device. Go listen to the Imaingo.
