Pros Bluetooth wireless capability.
Portable, has a USB charging port for cell phones, tablets, cameras, etc.
Big sound in a small package. Comes with zippered neoprene travel case and AC adapter. Also has additional aux. port for non-Bluetooth devices.
Cons No speakerphone functionality, bass distorts somewhat at higher volume
Summary This powerful little cylindrical speaker delivers a lot of bang for the buck. I compared it in-store to the Jawbone Jambox, Beats Pill, JBL Flip and others and it blew them all out of the water in terms of overall sound clarity and bass response. Only the Bose mini was superior in my opinion. It weighs a little over one pound, has a sturdy construction, and can be played on its side or standing up.PS. JBL claims that the battery life is good up to 12 hours on one charge. I haven't tested the accuracy of that claim yet, but so far the battery is still kicking in after several hours at medium to medium-high volume...
It's slightly larger size(about 1 and a half beer cans end to end) is still very portable, and the protective zippered neoprene travel case fits it like a glove, and easily fits in any carry on bag or gym bag. Great for the beach, poolside, hotel room, picnic, etc.

Pros 1) Very balanced sound.
2) Crisp,highly defined sound
3) Nice features: volume control; aux in, charging USB port for iPhone or iPad
4) Large capacity battery
Cons Obviously it can't handle very high volume and that is not it's purpose.
"Best in class."on by Madholm
Pros Battery, sound and portability.
Cons Doesn't sound like something 2x as big and 5x the price.
Summary There are bigger more expensive options that sound much better, but they are too big to carry daily and aren't worth the price unless you have a large disposable income. Even then I wouldn't carry one of the big pricey ones around, they just aren't in the same class of portability. You can slip the charge or flip into a jacket pocket if needed and that makes a huge difference in usability.
It all comes down to price, size (portability) and performance. The charge wins hands down in its 'size' category with the stiffest competition being JBLs own flip. I have both and they are amazing for the price. I will be sad to see my flip go, but a coworker offered me $60 for it because he's heard me use it at my desk in the past.
