"Simply great...." on by fabiosouzajr
Pros: Here's the thing, you get what you pay for with this one, and in this case it's just sound.
Cons: I bit heavy, the buttons feels cheap.
Summary: Alot of reviews simply dont take in account strategy and product development. You simply cant have it all. Companies have bugdets and goals in order to put a product in the market and they decide where the money goes... If you throw the money at features, build quality or whatnot youre gonna have to cut some corners somewhere else.
In the JBL they just threw all the money on sound quality, and man it shows. Im sure youre paying some brand premium here, but thats what got JBL there in the first place.
Marketing and all else aside, the thing plays beautifully. Low volumes, mid volume and loud it shines... Im sure alot of you are in doubt about the bose as I said, i heard them side by side, it is close, but JBL is just clearer, clearer highs and the lows go much deeper... really sounds bigger than it is.
This has a reason, the JBL has 3 drivers, in a 2.1 configuration while the bose makes due with dual full range drivers. The power is also different, in the manual it speaks of 60w (15W x 2 + 30w) but im sure its more like 40W, versus the bose's (maybe 20W, bose doesnt specify).
The bose is good also, but to my ears has a flatter/softer response that doesnt really come alive like the JBL. To me it just feels like the bose doesnt play all the frequency range, (alot of people feel the same way) but what it plays it plays really well.

"Nice sound, adapter does not fit with iPod touch 32-64GB" on by boquad
Pros: Very nice sound, at different levels and volumes. Smart remote control. It charges the iPod nicely and it has a low el-consumption also in standby
Cons: The adapter provided does not fit with iPod touch 32/64 GB. The thickness of the adapter does not allow for proper contact for connection, probably due to its thickens. I have not got an answer from JBL support on how to proceed with this problem.
Summary: Nice speaker if you do not plan to use it with iPod touch 32/64 GB.

"Better and cheaper than Bose Sounddock" on by robertjulian
Pros: design
sound quality
ease of useCons: Not yet so far it works fine as expected.
Summary: If you use your iPhone or iPod as a primary source of music in a room or your office this is the deal. I spent some time to discover this market and got a good deal at BestBuy. I bought under $200!

"Best non portable IPhone speakers yet for around $200" on by ehrose
Pros: Great clear sound, the bass was better than any other on stage models. Stands up well to the Bose Sound Dock. The Bose model gets more bass and sounds warmer but not by alot for alot less cash
Cons: No FM but I am not looking for that anyway. I just wish it had portability. The bose model added a portable mode lit cost a ton but seems to be the best overall with portability added. Is there any other speaker out there that can offer this?
Summary: If you are on a budget the 400P is a perfect choice. If you just want the best portable speakers out there, splurging on the Bose soundock digital wont disappoint
