"Klipsch to the rescue......" on by rowdyjazzman

Pros: Very portable, sounds fantastic, handsome design and works with my 6G iPod Classic, and last but not least, the price.

Cons: No FM radio, EQ or pretty much any frills except for volume and on/off.( I just use the internal iPod EQ and it sounds great.)

Summary: After scouring the internet and the usual retail suspects I am glad I went with my gut and the Cnet information.

The main thing I was looking for was a compact device that could be played loud without distorting ( at a reasonable price).
And the iGroove can do that all day long.

    I love this machine.

"just can't get excited about it..." on by cagedb

Pros: decent bass for 2.5" drivers, adequate sound at volume for small office, competitive price, attractive, easy set up and use.

Cons: distortion at moderate volumes, single source sound (mono), unbalanced (weighted toward low frequencies), poor remote operation, and the unit failed completely within one week.

Summary: I had higher expectations for this product, having had good experiences with Klipsch in the past. It doesn't deliver the sound quality nor spatial aspects I was looking for, but for the price paid ($85 delivered), is probably a decent value. Since the product failed (fortunately within the return period), I am looking to upgrade.

"Full-sized sound, compact system." on by pfc2k1

Pros: Kilpsch quality and clear sound reproduction without any audible distortion

    Cons: Light on features

Summary: I wanted to pick-up a mid-priced dock/speaker system for my iPod and I have always wanted to try to Klipsch speakers based on their reputation. When I saw the iGroove SXT at Best Buy - I figured for the price ($149.99), Klipsch would be the brand to go with. I'm glad I did.

The iGroove SXT is small, but don't let it’s size fool you. Once you connect your iPod and press "play", you will be amazed at how good this small system sounds. The mids, highs and lows are all balanced nicely. Bass is much deeper than I expected, too. It won't blow you away but the bass is deep enough to be heard (and felt at higher volumes).

The sound reproduction is crystal clear with no noticeable distortion at higher sound levels and zero noise between songs. If you want something that sounds great and is reasonably priced, this is definitely one to consider.

The iGroove SXT has the same basic features as it's competitors (playback controls, skipping forwards/backwards through tracks in the selected playlist, volume, power, etc.) and it offers a video-out for 5G+ iPods if you want to connect it to a TV.

One note for Logitech Harmony users: I have yet to figure out a way to get the iGroove SXT to accept commands from my Harmony 880, even though the remote appears to recognize all of the original remote's functions.

"Product failed completely after 2 years." on by paminsanfran

Pros: The Klipsch iGroove has decent sound and is a nice, compact unit. The new ones are competitively priced.

Cons: My iGroove failed completely after 2 years. They think it was the 30-pin and it was more $$ to fix it than to buy a new one.

Summary: My iGroove failed after 2 years. Since the product was out of warranty, Klipsch was unwilling to help fix or replace the unit. The new ones are only $150, but I paid $275 when I bought mine 2 years ago, so with that, I expected it to last a little longer than 2 years. After several back-and-forths with Klipsch customer support, they finally offered to sell me a replacement unit for $69. I was satisfied, thinking that we were "meeting halfway", until I received the unit, which turned out to be a B-Stock, a detail they failed to mention on the phone. Klipsch then proceded to argue with me about whether or not they had informed me it was a B-Stock (thanks for assuming I'm lying, Klipsch) and offered absolutely nothing to make up for the mis-understanding. With the failure of my first iGroove, I was not satisfied with a B-stock unit, which comes with no history or information on it's past life. Based on my initial experience, I had lost confidence in the brand and had I known I was being offered a B-Stock, I would have instead chosen to spend the $69 towards a different brand altogether. I understand that the original, failed device was outside warranty, but I am disappointed that their mentality is: tough luck, rather than: let's work with you to try and regain your confidence in our brand again, even if that means stretching our policies a little. I am also disappointed that the customer service MANAGER, chose to argue with me over the minute details of my experience, rather than help find a mutually beneficial solution. I think what I was asking for was reasonable. Apparently not.

Bad move Klipsch: I was about to buy a Home Theater unit and Klipsch is now out of the running. For $75 extra dollars, you lost a lifetime of business.

"Bose-like sound at half the price - Excellent stuff!" on by rakspaze

Pros: Good sound quality; portable size; strong bass; s-video and aux-in options. Overall a great product.

Cons: The remote doesn't work. I might have to replace the cell.
Also, some sort of an indicator on the unit to show that you've reached the maximum volume would help.

Summary: I initially wanted to buy a Bose SoundDock. But, after reading several reviews on the internet I decided to give the Klipsch igroove a shot. I must say I'm quite pleased that I took the risk. It's a great product for the price you pay for it. Excellent sound considering the size of the speakers. The S-video output and aux-in compatibility are a plus.

If you need a portable dock with decent sound quality that's not too heavy on the wallet then this is a great product to consider.
