"Excellent speakers for the money!" on by Paintnut
Pros: Inexpensive speakers, compact, carrying case, excellent mids-his, great battery life, can be used with anything containing a 1/8 inch minijack
Cons: Little/no bass, input plug difficult to access
Summary: If you find a good deal on these speakers, ($25-35), buy them. They're not made to replace your current home theater system, nor are they meant to; but they're great for traveling, picnics, or other places where you won't be near an outlet.
Their compact design allows to to take them anywhere especially with the provided case (which has enough room to throw your ipod into in a pinch).
As for sound quality, it could be better. The mids and hi's sound great, however, the bass isn't there, so your Missy Elliot isn't going to sound too hot on these. The input jack is located on the back and it can be hard to access.
The CNET editors complained that it didn't come with a remote... but at these prices, you shouldn't expect it to. I do like that these can be used with anything that has a mini-jack connector, so other music players and laptops will work here as well.
Finally, I love the battery life on these things. They'll run for about 14 hours on the loudest setting on 2 standard AA NiCad batteries.
Get these if your looking for a small set of speakers that you can take anywhere, that won't cost you an arm and a leg. -
"CNet is being a bit tough on these poor little speakers!" on by leonbev
Pros: Price, small/compact size, carrying case
Cons: Not very loud, no iPod dock connector
Summary: I agree with most of CNET's review on these speakers, but I think that they're being a bit harsh on a product that you can get from Amazon for around $30.
Sure, these speakers aren't very loud and the bass isn't all that great. They do sound good at medium volumes, however, and the combination of the small size and the carrying case make them an excellent travelling partner for my iPod. And, despite what CNET says, I think that they look pretty cool
The only big problem that I have with these speakers is that they do not have an integrated dock connector for my iPod like some high-end speaker models have. That means that I need to carry around separate cables for keeping my iPod charged while I'm using these speakers, which can cause some cable clutter on your desk while you're using them.
Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase. If you need cheap speakers for your MP3 player, I'd pick these. -
"Great concept. Poor Base response. Returned" on by robcomptec
Pros: Great concept
Cons: Poor base response
Summary: I thought, "a Logitech product, folding, compact speakers, to be used with my iPod".
So, I shopped, and got them on a great deal.
However, after connecting them to my iPod, I wondered "where did the base response go?"
I was bummed enough to return them (even though they wouldn't have cost me much to keep).
