"Next best speakers to Bose SoundDock" on by ingallsra

Pros: Great, clean sound with improved bass and a better remote

    Cons: Fingerprint magnet!!!

Summary: I've owned the Logitech mm50 portable speakers for two years. They've been great but do have the infamous sound distortion at higher volume levels.
I recently purchased Logitech's Pure-fi Anywhere speakers, and they are impressive. When testing them next to other portable speakers in the store, the only one better was the Bose SoundDock--and not by a gaping margin.
The Pure-fi Anywhere has improved sound over its mm50 predecessor and a much more user-friendly remote with more options than before. I love that I can go in and out of my iPod's menus. I haven't experienced sound distortion with this system either, and it works flawlessly with my 160gb iPod Classic.
While I preferred the look of the mm50 to the Anywhere, the sound quality is so much better that the cosmetics don't matter to me. My only real beef is that the glossy black front and remote are fingerprint magnets. Be prepared to be wiping them often.
Overall, Logitech's Pure-fi Anywhere speakers are a very nice improvement over the mm50s, and if you don't want to spend $400 on the Bose SoundDock, Logitech is your best choice (with a much friendlier price tag).

    "Highly recommended." on by Mexjames

    Pros: Sound quality, Logitech service.

    Cons: Remote feels frail.

Summary: I bought this equipment mostly for use in the office. I'm a fan of classical music, and this set of speakers delivers outstanding sound for its size. A colleague has the Bose unit, and was impressed by the sound and the portability of the Pure-Fi Anywhere.

The iPod fits seamlessly, the remote has good range, the carrying case is very well designed including an elastic band to hold the remote, and the AC adapter fits neatly in the iPod bay. The first unit I had had a problem, Logitech's technical support was very efficent and they replaced the item promptly. They always answered my e-mails within 24 hours, and they were never beating around to bush trying to postpone a solution.

I don't live in the USA so I thought that getting the replacement unit would be a problem, but Logitech handled everything and the new unit arrived as promised.

The only reason of why this product doesn't get a perfect 10 is because the remote control feels a little bit frail, compared to the unit itself which is very solid. However, the remote controls the iPod menu, making it very easy to navigate among the songs and playlists.

"Fantastic portable ipod dock. GREAT sound." on by grimpak

Pros: VERY, VERY good sound. Good looks. Nice, compact design. Handy remote (so you don't have to try to fumble with the ipod while docked.) The built-in rechargeable batteries are a great idea for portability. (Slightly) padded case for travel.

Cons: Exactly what I was looking for. Adding a radio tuner might have been a plus.

Summary: I looked at many different models and many different brands before selecting the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere. It really does have GREAT sound, which was by far the most important criteria for me. Only the Bose docking systems sounded better to me.... but who wants to spend $300 on a dock ?!?!?! Go with this one, you won't be disappointed!.

"Awesome, This small portable speaker set is perfect for any small gathering anywhere!" on by Rizzo405

Pros: This thing is great for travel, poolside, grilling, or just about any outdoor activity!

Cons: Remote is a bit cheap and tricky but does the job, that all that counts in the end!

Summary: I love this thing, it's great for background music, it might not blow your hair back but it's clear and loud enough for a small group of people to enjoy anywhere, I don't understand the comment of it being useless, everyone I know loves this thing!

"Pretty darn good!" on by croixian1

Pros: Very nice sound, comparable with small Bose units. Works with iPod Nano 3rd Gen.

Cons: Wish I had control over base and trebel. Poor remote control range.

Summary: Bought it at Sam's Club for $80.
