Philips SBP1100

Summary: sound is wholesome and well balanced. It won't bring your house down but has good sound if you don't intend to disturb others. Certainly worthy upgrade for laptops/netbooks.

Summary: I purchased these speakers for a measely $10 from the local dept store. I use them mainly on my laptop, and I have to say they have far exceeded my expectations. The audio quality is excellent at all levels; and about that, these speakers can be played quite loud without any problems. I listen to a lot of music, and these take the abuse with no problems. The bass is great for such a small package.
The one time I used them with an MP3 player they performed just as well. 10/10 to Phillips, a must buy for the music junkie.
NOTE: About the music playback, I listen to a variety of music: from Disturbed to Lil Wayne, from Chuck Berry to Yellowcard. No song has yet found a way to distort the speaker sound through either bass or high-pitched sounds.
