The Bottom Line Sony's cheap 'n' cheerful portable speaker sounds awfully thin. Creative's tiny but sweet-sounding portable speaker wowed us. Altec's Apple-esque desktop iPod speaker system sounds sweet. It won't rock the house, but this featherweight portable stereo speaker sounds immediate and clear. RCA's portable speaker sounds awfully small.
