    "Archos Lousy Customer Service"

    Summary: I had the Archos 404 PVP for about a month before the LCD screen became defective. I could no longer access music or video files as the screen was blank - looked like it was cracked. I tried to contact Archos customer service and finally after a couple of days managed to talk to someone who cut me off both times. The rep promised to send a shipping number to ship the device for warranty repair to Archos but the shipping number never arrived at my email. Terrible awful service and would never buy from them again.

    I have an update on the service I received from Archos Technical and Customer Suppport regarding a defective Archos 404 PVP. The unit finally arrived yesterday (Feb 1, 2007)- I had shipped it to Archos just after Christmas. After a lot of missed calls, hangups, them screwing up my credit card information, ect, it finally arrived intact. In fact, instead of reparing the unit, they simply replaced the thing with a new one. Their service department is not very well run and messages left with one rep inevitably do not get passed on to the one you were dealing with. I wrote complaint letters to Archos Corporate head offices around the world and to the Better Business Bureau as well - to advise them of the lousy customer service. I would advise against buying anything at Best Buy or from Archos period!

    I am so upset with Archos. I bought the 605 Wifi unit for my son for Christmas. He opened it Christmas day and informed me that I bought the wrong one. The one I bought has only 4mg. Anyway, I called Archos yesterday to do an exchange and Yolanda was very rude to me. She proceeded to tell me that I can't return it or exchange and that this was stated on my receipt that I only have 7 days to do so. There is no such statement on my receipt. How can I do that when it was a Christmas present and it wasn't opened till two days ago? She was so unbelievable rude and told me that she doesn't care that I didn't know what I was ordering, etc. I asked for a manager and she said she was the manager. I even told her that I wanted to upgrade which then I would be spending more money on an Archos product and she said she didn't care. I will NEVER purchase a product from this company again and I will tell everyone I know what happened to me. Very disappointed!

    Under some circumstances I may think this person is irrational. However, after dealing with Archos myself I believe every issue he has. The customer service team is argumentative, rude, will not return phone messages, or attempt to resolve your problems! If you have any doubts, I would check the BBB website before buying any equipment from them. Correct me if I am wrong, and (I am sure someone will), I believe their overall rating is an "F".

    Ever consider that the email from Archos ended up in your "junk" email folder. Mine did (not Archos' fault), but I have the brains to actually check my junk folder when I am expecting an important email. Maybe you expected the Archos' CEO to come to your house personally with some cookies too.

    Let me get this right.
    You broke your unit (screen cracked by itself?), you sent it in to Archos at the busiest time of the year for the post office(Christmas) and they sent you back a NEW unit, all in just over a month.
    Is that about right?
    And this is bad customer service?
