"The best PMP on the market if you got the money." on by pachi72

    2. 250gb HD.
    3. AAC support (pay extra but worth it.)
    4. Great sound.
    5. The best web browser on any Mp3, PMP player. Flash 8 and 9 support.
    6. Easy to Navigate and great interface.
    7. Kickstand.

    Cons: 1.Battery Life.
    2. Its not Open source.

Summary: This is the best Mp3, PMP player i ever owned and let me tell you, i don't regret spending almost 500 bucks on it.
I owned alot of mp3 players (ipod classic, Zune, Cowon D2) and they all had their cons. This does have it cons but its not as bad the as the others.
Avi movies looks soo good on this, almost feels like watching HD content.

"Buy It If Only You're Rich!!!" on by Madths

    Pros: 1. Portable
    2. Storage

    Cons: 1. All need money!
    2. Charging time takes longer time compared to usage
    3. No wall charger... only USB
    4. Battery life not as long as advertised.

Summary: At first I thought it is a cool stuff. In fact it turned out as most ridiculous gadget I've ever purchased. Not all videos format can be played. You need to purchase another 'plug-in' which sold separately which not as cheap as you wish.
There was no wall charger provided... again, mean you need to purchase it separately. Else you need to bring along your laptop, then only you can charge it by USB. So, portable term turned meaningless.

Want to record your favorite programmer? Need to purchase DVR station!
Want to connect to your TV? Need to purchase Dock!
Want to play Flash games? Need to purchase "plug-in"!

Don't expect you will get all free or cheap even though you're have spend a lot of money to purchase this devise. My advise is; BUY IT IF ONLY YOU'RE RICH & YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY!!!

"Not worth it, Bad Software problems and customer care" on by jayspolygonpiro

Pros: It has a good amount of storage.

Cons: Software has alot of issues, and is confusing unless your savy with codes and have a well knowledge of computers.

Summary: I purchased mine only to have it not work, I then had it replaced and the software would not alow 99% of all widgets and flash apps to work, when I sent it in the tech people completely ignored what my issue was and tryed to charge me $150 for a battery that I did not want, then still without fixing the problem they sent it back completely unrepaired, after 3 weeks of avoiding my emails and calls.

"The product and the company are a big disappointments." on by dananutter

Pros: I purchased this products based upon its specs and long list of features, especially the wi-fi capabilities. Unfortunatly I wasn't able to keep the thing powered on long enough to really check out all those nice features.

Cons: The battery on my units wouldn't stay charged, even when plugged into USB. A 20 minute hold for tech support got me a very unwilling tech who alledgedly issued an RMA but I never got the promised e-mail. Very poor service!

Summary: A google search reveals that this product is notorious for having battery troubles like I had. Too bad because for the short time it was running, it appears to have some nice features though I also noticed that after a short time the whole thing became very hot, and I could sometimes feel the hard drive in motion when holding it. The user interface is good except for all those icons for features that aren't present, which Archos is trying to sell as "add ons". Many of these are just disabled software features. For the price, they also should include certain basic items like a stylus, AC charger and maybe even a protective sleeve as well as enabling those small software features. Relying on having a computer nearby to charge it is kind of ridiculous especially since my intention was to take this on vacation and use it for web browsing and e-mail instead of lugging around my laptop.

If not for the battery problem and the poor customer service, I would have been happy to keep this in would probably get some good use from it but my first, and second, impressions of the product and the company say I'm better off with something from another manufacture, even if it lacks some of these features.

I strongly recommend avoiding this product and the company that doesn't stand behind it. I'm back to shopping for another PMP. At this point leaning toward a Cowon O2PMP.

"WARNING - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ARCHOS!" on by ex_archos_fan

Pros: Looks nice and it boasts many features. May initially work ok.

Cons: Firmware updt will screwed it up
Support is non existant. Phone calls do not work, emails do not work. 2 weeks since i contacted them after 2 days of ownership.....nothing done yet. My next step is to call VISA and cancel all charges...and then BBB!

Summary: See above...no support whatsoever......i feel like i have been scammed....do not buy anything from Archos...there is no support.
    Shopper be warned!
