"504 160Gb vs AV700 vs AV420-I have owned them all"
Pros: 504 large 2.5" 160GB HD, longer screen, bright display, good sound, removable battery
Cons: Too thick, All inputs are proprietary-no charging w/o special acces, ridiculously low battery life <2 hours (all reviews lied), complicated buttons
Summary: This is an example of a good thing gone bad. The orginal AV420/480 is still the best unit -small, slim, long battery life, great resolution, everything included, well made and used standard ports! The 504 is much to thick to be transported easily. Much too expensive for what amounts to a harddrive and a circuit board. And, it has dismally low battery life regardless of what all reviews say -less than 2.5 hours on video! The speaker and volume is almost inaudible (AV420 is much better)...good audible sound requires headphones. Compared to AV420/480 the proprietary inputs and outputs requires not only speparate purchases but also requires hauling around fragile/breakable special attachments, special proprietary cables, chargers and all just to charge up the figgin battery! In order to use any of these needed items, the 504 must be removed from it's protective case (whether OEM or non-OEM). Screen is longer by 1/3 than AV420 but no taller. Extended non-oem battery adds even more bulk that precludes case use at all. My AV700 was even more ridiculous --heavy, large, fragile and with a HIGHLY PIXILATED screen (I could count the pixels from across the room)! It was a very bad attempt to go large. Mine also went in for a new circuitboard right out of the box -three weeks gone and with hassle. My advice...get an older AV420/480 and forget this thing until Archos gets the message that small is better and proprietary is WRONG!

Easily get 5 hours of video on mine. Kind of slanderous to call reviews lies, don't you think?
