Pros Small PVP with perfect screen size
Cons Too slow for internet, movie playback
Summary I hate knocking new electronic stuff but I cannot recommend this PVP. I didn't mind paying the asking price for it, but the 705 I had mailed to me was pretty bad. I sent it back to Radio Shack. It had major problems finding a wireless connection (even after I did a software upgrade and was sitting within 10 feet of the wireless route), and when it did connect, it seemed like I was using dial-up instead of broadband. And the amount of time it took to spool up a video - wow I was shocked. If I can give any of my fellow techies any advice, don't buy this! Despite the great screen size and the portability, you will soon find yourself asking for a refund. Sorry my review couldn't be favorable for what was a promising new product.
Pros TOUCH SCREEN REALLY WORKS
Cons dvr cost $99
Summary if you want a pvp here you go. the cons of this player are stuff it really should'nt do.
ie, $30 web browser. do you really need another gadget that surf's the web? if so then you could probably afford $30.
$20 plug-in for extra movie file types.
there's no shortage of file conversions on the web and better yet most of them are free.
also a screen that size can tget much shaper with the touch screen interface without jeopardizing weight. remember its supposed to be portable.
if the size is just to large for you. i've been able to hold my archos 405 in my hp ipag's belt case with no problems.and my 605 has its own archos case but fits like a pda would on my belt also.
i would take time to knock archos for their dvr add-on. i'm a techy guy so i understand price points are price points but this is a pvp player that records. so for that price this should come standard now. i never complained because the dvr complimented the price point for users who didnt need the function. now for $599 i feel like this is a no-brainer.
Pros If you really need to find one... it play SOME files ok...
Cons See below for full issues
Summary The device is clunky, heavy, with a poor battery life and sound. Worse of all it won't play many DIVX or MPEG4 files, unless you dish out extra cash to Archos for the right codec, or spend weeks re-encoding all your AVIs? I will never buy an Archos product again! Read this carefully before considering buying one. Furthermore remember their customer or sales support is a joke, they really don't care about consumers or ever reply; you are on your own!... At your own risk then ;-)
Pros 1. Big Screen
2. Good Strage
Cons 1. Bad Battery Life
2. The product just Conked out and For support it needs to be shipped to France after warrenty is over.
3. so dont buy it if local support is not there.

Pros plays excellent video. Sound volume is ridiculously low, I mean ridiculous! I use noise canceling earphones and inline amp just to attempt to hear. Touch screen is not very sensitive. Archos web site has abandoned any upgrades or help. see below....
Cons ... if you buy this unit you cannot update or get any support. All you get is a movie player with no volume. Does not support flash 9. factory battery will not play 2 hr movie. 4Hr batt. has to be attached with tape, does not fit right. buy a netbook
