"EAT YOUR HEART OUT CREATIVE!!!!!!"
Pros: tv,dvd, sattelite, cd recording+ beautiful screen+great battery life+drag and drop music
Cons: cheap headphones, crappy chassis design, lack of equilizer, bad, bad, video conversion software
Summary: I recently purchased the Archos AV500 after many weeks of research and I am extremely pleased with this product. I wrote Archos and suggested that they provide a firmware update to fix the lack of equalizer and the no music while viewing pictures problem. They told me that they would send it to their techs. (whatever). For the most part this device is cool if you are a gadget fiend like myself. Its not really that bulky and the screen kicks zen I mean a**. The only major flaws that I found where the chassis design I mena its 2005 and the device looks like a cassette throwback LOL. I will warn you right now if you buy this product purchase some good headphones cause the ones that they provide suck. They should have given consumers at least an lcd headphone remote combo for the price. Ohh well no sense crying over spilled milk. DOnt buy into the NANO hype or the creative crap. this product is for the educated consumer who pays for quality and not style.

Agree that Archos rules! I love the AV700 (even though the screen was blasted in most reviews), looks great to me. I just got the Archos Gmini Camcorder & it rocks too.
Archos needs to offer a Bodyglove case for both the AV700 & the Gmini Camcorder. -
I see that the PocketDish AV500E (made by Archos.com) will only work with DishNetwork receiver and not other Satellite or Cable Company recievers, otherwise this would be a good product if I needed to switch to another satellite or cable company.
Archos.com cannot provide exact answers on this issue about their own version (AV500 Mobile DVR) being compatible with any cable or satellite receiver in case customers need to switch carriers! Archos/PocketDish support if very incompetent when trying to provide exact answer on this important issue!
I anyone can confirm that the Archos AV500 will work with any satellite or cable box reciever would be appreciated! -
The creative player isnt meant for recording video, it's meant for playing video and music, and when his Archo player conks out after less than a year he'll learn his lesson, you buy cr@p brands you get cr@p products.

I think the creative zen vison is geared more towards those who already know how to record dvds to their computers.
