"When I got my archos multimedia I was so very happy. I can play all of my music I love." on by catcra
Pros: Takes good pics. Love the space for all of my music.
Cons: Oh the battery. Bad. Very bad. I listen to 3 songs and its all down hill from there. No more power.
Summary: This was a really good product. However....the battery will not last very long. Kind of sad for a person who loves music and can't listen to all of it.

"consistantly disappointed with product" on by mpschilling
Pros: hard drive size, flash attachment
Cons: battery life, support, weight
Summary: When I first got my Archos, it really was a great new toy. Then I walked to the bus. Between the weight and short battery life, it became a burden, but my only option. Eventually I bought the FM Tuner attachment. This only succeeded in destroying the audio out connection. I finally gave up when the battery (or the firmware I've always suspected) wouldn't allow me to listen to more than 10 minutes of music and Archos stopped updating the firmware.
I purchased a new (non-Archos) mp3 player/flash drive.
Now, the Archos brick is relegated to being what I take along for party music only if I know there is an electrical outlet nearby. I very delicately have to set the unit down because of the audio out problem, and hope that in the middle of the party the unit doesn't start screeching audio, as it's wont to do.
I write this lengthy review in the hopes that Archos monitors postings and learns from past mistakes. -
"Plays mp3s, but ugly, bad battery, etc..." on
Pros: I've owned this, the Aireo Soniqcast, and the 20 gb iPod in the last month... Cool features, good price for a 20 gb if you shop correctly (I got the unit and basic accessories, plus camera module for $180 on ebay). Bright LCD screen.
Cons: "bad" battery compared to other products. I personally didn't mind it too much because I really only use an mp3 player for walking to class and donating plasma, which the battery easily lasts through; it's only about four hours of playing mp3s. The bigges

"Good luck with the photos!" on
Pros: In fact I bought the 40G then in a trip I downloaded 25,000 photos by connecting directly my compact flashs, erased them and taking more pictures.
Cons: 10,000 of those pictures ended-up overlapped, unreadable or erased!!! I tried to update the main program that might fix those problems. Since then, I can only load pictures and music from a computer but I cann't use the Jukebox itself neither load pictur
