"Very cool gadget" on by BJBubbaJones

Pros: Beautifuland bright screen which is adjustable, clear sound with 2 headphone jacks, cool built in screen protector, very stylish, can play all media formats, very portable, stellar battery life

Cons: none, worked wonderfully and was perfect

Summary: This is the perfect gadget. Even the software does wonders (cuts 100mb files to 10mb files). I'd reccommend it to anyone. Very inexpensive except for the fact that you have to buy sd cards. But each one holds a ton with the software (one 512mb sd card holds two full length movies!)

"No. Put it Back." on by Spesho

Pros: Fresh out of the box, IT's GREAT!

Cons: The more time you spend with it, the more you HATE!

Summary: First let me say I got wind of zvue late in the game... they're already coming out with something better... supposedly.

Anyway, I had trouble with everything... I installed the software on two of my computers - nada. The zorg ware that comes with it never recognized when the zvue was connected. I didn't care since windows shows it as a mass storage device, and I could easily drag and drop files as needed. The zflicks software they give you for converting video's to the mp4 format did not work. I tried converting three video's... a couple of t.v. shows I recorded. 2 were pretty small files to begin with... and I was pleased to see that when zflicks finisehd encoding them for play on the zvue.. the files had been cut in half!! A-HA! I was impressed... but the feeling faded quickly cuz they still wouldn't play.

I found it annoying that whenever there was a problem with file playback... I would just get a weird error message telling me to go visit the zvue website - but the website doesn't go too far beyond the basics as far as support. They do provide a 1-800 number with the product and ask you to call... but who wants to spend that much time trying to figure out how to work a $99.00 CHUNKY handheld that runs on batteries? For the time I've spent trying to give this thing the benefit of the doubt... I would rather have just spent another 150 and got something smaller, rechargeable, and with onboard memory.
I've had this thing exactly 36 hrs, and dinked around with it for about 10 hours already... b/c I was sure it had to work... I mean, it was so COOL when I took it out of the box that I happily pardoned the size of the gadget b/c I expected so much from it... BAH!

They do give you an AC adapter to use for power... so you don't use up all your battery juice on all the technical drama you're in store for. I just don't want it. I'm disappointed too b/c I really thought it was gonna be a cool gadget.

I paid $99.00 for mine at Walmart... the cost of the thing, plus the cost of batteries to power it, plus the cost of storage... (the 128mb sd card that comes with it is laughable - you will need more storage) you'll wind up spending as much as you would had you purchased something of better quality and more trusted.

"The battery life is great & the player is excellent" on by forbesreader

Pros: This is going to be a big seller, For the price you can't get any thing 1/2 as good

Cons: no complaints other than my wife using my player

Summary: First of All i must say this unit is all around far better than i imagined & my brother has an ipod & also had to buy this ZVUE 250

    Key Features & Benefits:

    The Down Low

The ZVUE 250 works with ZVUE.com as well as other subscription and pay-per-download media services.

    To Infinite Storage and Beyond

Expandable media slot lets you add as many songs as you like, instead of deleting them to make room for others!

    Superb Compatibility

ZVUE supports multiple audio, video and photo formats including WMA, MP3, MPEG-4, Xvid, JPEG and BMP.

    Color Display

Vibrant, 2.5" TFT LCD backlit screen. Crisp, clear detail in every video and photo, even under bright lightning.

    Just ZAPP It!

ZAPP Media Manager software makes transferring and managing your favorite content a cinch.

    Jam Packed

Enjoy preloaded music and videos that will keep you entertained for hours.

The image and audio files can be dragged and dropped directly onto the card via a card reader or USB cable. The video files must be converted using the ZOrg/zflicks software that comes with the unit. However, if you can load files into Windows Media Player 10 or later, you can use the Sync option, and Media Player will also convert them. This allows you to convert video file formats other than those listed above.

The player has the following ports: audio ports (two), SD/MMC slot, AC adapter, future expansion slot, and a USB 2.0 port. (The online info says it is USB 2.0; the data sheet included says USB 1.1.)

The controls are: brightness, volume, a five-way navigation wheel, playback controls and a menu button. The unit comes with: the ZVIEW player, earphones, AC adapter, Media Manager software, USB cable, a Quick Start guide, a 128MB SD card loaded with goodies, and a 90-day limited warranty.

ALL around A+ Rating this ZVUE250 is a must have one. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL
