"Slick little media player!" on by prberg
Pros: Big screen, can record from Tv or DVD, uses CF cards
Cons: 1GB maxium?, can't run off of AC, Poor technical support
Summary: This is a neat little gadget. not sure if I really need one but it's cool. Can record from DVD or TV so you can use it like a VCR.
The RCA support is very poor. Their website and user manual are not very detailed. From what they told me on the phone, the biggest card this unit can take is 1GB. That kina sucks.
The picture and audio quality is good. I wish it played more formats (it plays MP3's, and MPEG videos). Basically I see it as an IPOD but with much better video support. If I could get a bigger memory card (or micro-drive) in it I would be really happy.
Still a pretty good unit. -
"I Like it coz I got it for $40." on by asimrabbani
Pros: Video Recording. It does support my 4GB CF card. It may support higher Capacities.
Cons: You MUST convert each media file to play on it. The firmware is very basic. Online support is almost non-existent.
Summary: It's a little deceptive in the product description that it plays all formats of audio and video. It does not. You need to convert each audio file, each video file, even pictures to be able to play on this player. The software takes long time to convert. It really is a big drawback.
