"Great Hardware, lousy Software/Firmware"
Pros: Beautiful functional design
Cons: uploading music=difficult, videos=very difficult, games=impossible
Summary: Im torn about this player. The hardware couldn't be better. The overall design is light and sleak, but with a good sized screen. The thumb pad is big enough that I can change tracks while riding a bicycle while wearing gloves. However, there are a number of problems with the firmware including clipping the first bit off tracks when going from one to another. Uploading is the biggest problem. I haven't come across anyone on the web who has been able to upload any new games despite the fact that the thing seems perfectly designed as a flash game player. Uploading avi's (which are supposed to be automatically converted to svi's) has resulted in media manager crashing and corrupted files. If I could load iriver firmware into the Samsung software, it would get a 10, but until I find a work-around, its getting a 6.

I had an issue figuring out how to update the firmware & I finally figured it out w/no help from the next just download the zip file for the newest firmware which is 1.68 & extract the files & copy them to the player no folder just directly in the player disconnect the player from the computer & turn it on it will say updating firmware.
