Pros Great screen, can watch videos in landscape, scratch resistant, great interface, fairly intuitive control, small, simple, good sound, doesn't look as good as an Ipod but still good.
Cons Poor battery life, no removable battery, not many extra features.
Summary Great mp3 player, does all the basics. Definetly gives Ipod a good run for their money. Not perfect, but maybe next gen.

"Save Your Money!!!"on by cajunito
Pros Nice package,good graphice
Cons Disorganized layout,no selective layout, very poor battery life.
Summary I made the mistake of buying this product based on the editor`s review that I saw here.. WRONG! This product is a piece of garbage,SAVE YOUR MONEY. The support cd allows you tp daownload gigabeat room, which is very bizarre and won`t allow one to download selected music from your computer. I have never had a portable device with suck poor battery life. I can`t even make it through a 2.5 hour plane ride without the battery needing recharging...
Pros Plenty of features and supported media formats, nice screen as well.
Cons Poor battery life and glitchy software.
Summary I bought the Gigabeat S primarily because I read that it supported WMA Lossless. The FM tuner, photo viewer and video playback capabilities are all nice, but the Lossless support was the main selling point for me. When I tried to sync the Gigabeat with my computer, all my WMA Lossless files still had to be converted. I have Windows Media Player 11, and I don't know what else to do. The battery lasts about eight hours before the software starts glitching. The player will freeze up or start playing songs in random order. I've had to reset the battery several times, it fixes the problem but it's an iritating inconvenience. If you don't mind the weak battery life and glitchy software, then the nice screen and assortment of features make this portable media player a good choice. If anyone can help with the Lossless problem or knows of a longer lasting battery, please let me know.
Pros Cost and ergonomics.
Cons Poor support and bad software.
Summary I have had one for six months and it has been returned/replaced four times. There is no way to perform a full reset and restore on the software and hard drive, so if something gets corrupted on the drive the only solution is full replacement. I am on my fifth apparent corruption today and I am finished--I'll get something else--anything else!
