"Good, but didn't last long" on by ianfingland

Pros: Small, portable, and would fit on iphones with cases. Charged quickly and charged the iphone quickly.

Cons: It began holding less of a charge after a few months, and then completely died. Considering the price not bad, but it should last longer.

Summary: It's worth the price for the size and amount of charge it carries, but be prepared to replace it in a few months if you regularly use external batteries. I used mine daily in not more than once per day.

"KENSINGTON IS A SCAM" on by OrsonRamen

Pros: While it worked, it was great. Charged the phone.

Cons: Only works for a couple of months. Poor poor quality device, like all Kensington products.

Summary: I can't take it anymore. I never review products, but I'm tired of Kensington products that last a month or two and then die. This is the THIRD time a Kensington product died on me. Why do I keep falling for this and buying their crap? Because that's what they have at the Apple store. I want to warn others. I only used it 20 or 30 times, now it's useless. Never again.

"Won't Maintain Contact After Some Use" on by renesis2004

Pros: It will give your iPhone or iPod some extra life, just as Kensington claims.

Cons: Used the product several times on a summer vacation for a 3-week period, it worked fine. Then on a weekend trip in October, it kept losing contact with iPhone's dock connector; got worse as time went on. It is now useless.

Summary: I just contacted Kensington via e-mail about this problem with my 6-month old battery pack. I'll see how helpful they are or aren't. Right now, I can't recommend the product. Mine didn't hold up, and I've seen other reviews where users have had the same problem. It is of no use if it can't maintain contact with your iPhone/iPod.

"Does what it says." on by Jon

Pros: I like the smallness. Easy to carry in my "man bag", or my pocket without a problem. Well built and adds 2x the battery life when needed. Charges easily with the included plug and synch cable. Good for what I need. Charges when in use as well.

Cons: It's a bit awkward to use the phone when this device is added, but it's doable.

Summary: If you need extra power on the go, this is a very small, convenient device and works exactly like I expected. I've used it now for almost a year without difficulty. Bought originally for my original 1st generation iPhone, then used it with my 3G when we upgraded, and now with my new 3Gs. Works equally well with all three.
