You buy two extra batteries in addition to the ones already in your controller and you always have two batteries on stand by, ready to go, after a switch-out in 5 seconds. So, after the very first 3-hour charge of both stand-by batteries, the need to charge again becomes moot, because by the time you use up the battery again you will have two always ready to go - no waiting. Hardly a con. This is an essential accessory if you have the wireless controllers.
