Pros concept is cool
Cons cant sync or use car charger with sleeve on. can't use current case with this product. i love my iphone case (60.00) and now i cant use it when i want to use the power mat
Summary every thing that you want to charge is going to require your to buy a sleeve. Ipod G3 sleeve=$ 40.00 Powermat= 100.00 Blackberry sleeve = $30.00. if your going to charge 3 items and a mat you could easily spend over $ 200.00. and you have to take the sleeve off to sync with your computer or use a car charger. notice in that supercool commercial they never show you the back of the device. its a very ugly case the you will have to pay for and use if you want to use the power mat. This is quite possibly one of the most deceptive electronics to hit the market for some time. If you do buy one save the receipt ! my guess is you will be taking it back !
"So not worth it!"on by ARSacco
Pros It will save you about 5 seconds of time.
I purchased one and within 90 days the back panel became loose enough that it stopped charging. I know this is the case because if I squeeze the two contact points, the unit works. I believe this is a fundamental design flaw.
Summary Do not buy this piece of junk.
Pros Bought this for $16 plus $12 shipping.
Cons False advertising. Only charges 1 device at a time and takes up more room than a normal charger.
Summary I bought this thinking we could charge 3 cell phones at once. We can if we buy new batteries for them or more power mats. Only useful for 1 item. I got a great deal on this and since we lost a DS charger that's the only reason I am not returning it.
Pros agreed - great concept, bad product
Cons Expensive, horrible customer service, impractical return policy, no sales, not "wireless", requires separate adapters to charge each item, large item
Summary The only reason this product gets one star is because the items arrived in a timely manner. This product will run you about $70 give or take, plus shipping if ordered on-line and different adapters needed to charge each device. Online the mat looks about the size of the phone, but it seemed much larger in real-life. I purchased two mats/adapters for my brother and co-worker who travel a lot for work. I figured they could lay the mat on the dashboards of their cars and let their phones/ipods charge on the mat while they were driving. Much to my disappointment - I found it is NOT a wirelss and portable mat - as Powermat advertises it to be. The mat still needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. This makes it a useless product. I can leave my phone charger plugged into the wall too...and it charges just the same. Also - why would anyone waste the extra space on their desk or nightstand - when a phone takes up far less room than the mat. I did not know this until I had already given the gifts and I asked one of the recipients if they liked it. I offered to return the gift. I ordered the gifts on 11/30 and inquired on a return after the holiday season. I was informed I would not be able to return the product as it was after 30 days from the orignial purchase date. That's it. No other communication or options. VERY UNREASONABLE return policy if you ask me. Useless product, useless service. Don't waste your money - take yourself out to a nice dinner instead.
Pros The idea of a powermat as "one device charges all" sounds great but beware
Cons I only own one device that is compatiable and I have to spend another $40 to replace the back of my device to make it work with the mat and none of my family's other devices will work with the mat per Powermat CS. User manual weak.
Summary Until something better comes along its a waste of money and I am returning mine. The Powermat is advertised as a great way to eliminate power cords and consolidate charging needs for multi-device users/families but most average devices do not work or additional accessories needed (at a cost) to make it work. Very deceptive. Makes more sense to use the charging accesories that came with your wireless device. Search carefully for other products.
