"Powermat rocks!"5.0 starson by janisg1
Pros: Gets rid of all the USB cords that I had to keep track of. Since USB charging cords are NOT interchangeable, it was a nightmare. It's portable and works great when I travel, even to Europe, I just needed one power converter and I was good to go.
Cons: A bit on the expensive side, especially when you factor in extra adaptors...but there's always eBay for the adaptors.
Summary: I have the portable Powermat and have used it for about 10 months. I agree that $100 was a bit steep, but with the new pricing it's much better. I bought the adaptor for my Blackberry when I first got the Powermat and it was well worth the expense. I just drop my BB on the Powermat and it charges up. I recently added an extra powercube with the IPod tip (cheap on e-bay). I take the whole setup whenever I travel. The case is compact and easy to store. I don't have to bring all those annoying USB and wall adaptors. When going on road trips, I plug it into an inverter and everything stays charged. I have a Verizon MiFi and it stays plugged into the Powermat the whole trip and I never worry about losing internet connectivity for my laptop or iTouch. I work at home and the Powermat sits on my desk. I'm always charging ITouch, 2 cell phones, my Wifi and bluetooth headset...and nothing "overcharges" because it recognizes a full battery and shuts off. We're going to get another one for the kitchen. When people come to visit they always have a place to charge their phones. I LOVE THE POWERMAT!!!!
