Manufacturer description

This print server provides a parallel port for printer sharing with a group of users at home or in the office over a wireless network. Ideal for home and office use, this print server brings a high level of flexibility and performance to your wireless printing need. For homes and SOHO with just one printer to share, this print server offers a cost-effective way to share peripherals. Cautiously optimistic about this one

Pros: Very straightforward setup instructions. Somewhat intuitive web interface. Very compact.

Cons: Connecting to the parallel port it feels a little clumsy.

Review: The first one of these I ordered would not connect properly to the D-Link DI-824VUP wireless router we have. The vendor(MWAVE.COM) had it exchanged within 24 hours. Took the setup a little more step by step this time. We had the router set up with WPA-PSK and MAC filtering. We removed these and then we set up the DP-G301. After that I set up everything one step at a time starting with the MAC filtering, then the SSID and then finally the WPA-PSK. Other than the MAC filtering, I did each change on the DP-301 first, then I made the same change on the router. Seems to be printing pretty well with an HP LaserJet 4050. Make sure you set it up through the wireless conection and not the ethernet connection, that way you can confirm connectivity wirelessly.
Also, ALWAYS set up print servers with a STATIC IP address. This will ensure that DHCP does not mess up your printer port configuration.
In all, it seems like an okay print server. Time will tell.
