Pros Inexpensive dual core CPU with more than enough processor for daily internet and word processing use that is by fare more powerful than the Atom chips being pushed at the low end. A very capable drop upgrade in for single and slower Pentiums and Celerons
Cons Your older motherboard might not support this chip. It is now 2 generation behind Intel's top of the line offerings with low cost chips due out soon. For a few more dollars, you could by a chip which is much better for gaming uses.
Summary If you have a single core CPU, check an see if on of these newer Celerons will work. This $50 upgrade will almost be like giving you a brand new machine.
