I bought this to replace my old E6400 (2.13GHz) CPU and haven't been disappointed so far. The 65nm architecture of this chip is now being replaced by the new 45nm generation of Intel CPUs, which run cooler and more efficiently, but the difference isn't great enough to warrant replacing my E6850 yet. I've had mine minimally overclocked to 3.15GHz (with 1400MHz FSB) using the stock fan for over six months with no problems at all, but have seen people achieve stable overclocks of up to 3.6GHz using the same stock fan.

Stepped up to this one from the E6600, and I am very satisfied. Intel quality is pretty good, never have I been unsatisfied with their products.
