"1080p inputs & a spectacular picture"
Pros: the only future proof tv with 1080p inputs
Cons: pip could be better
Summary: I do not understand what the reviewer is talking about. This tv accepts and displays 1080p at24/30/60 fps over hdmi inputs and 24/3o fps over component inputs.I bought this tv without seeing it after reading a review by CNet senior editor David Katzmaier in another magazine. Mr Katzmaier described the picture quality of HP as beeing close to that of $13000 Qualia and better than any other RPTV he had tested.
I am glad I bought this tv. The picture is stunning and I can hardly wait for the new hd/blue ray dvd players with 1080p outputs which only this tv can accept.Updated
I wish I had never bought this piece of %#$@ It has had loud humming from speakers and color wheel besides other problems. Dealing with HP support is another nightmare-They have no resolution! I can not even get their so called senior case manager to return my phone call after leaving numerous mesages. Imagine spending $5000 on a tv which gives you a migraine. I am not the only one with problems with this tv. Numerous other people have posted on other forums. Hopefully a class action lawyer will find this worthwile to look into.

i believe what the review was trying to communicate was that on a test pattern they were unable to see the full 1080p spec resolution, ie the test pattern to check to see if the set is resolving everything would be a 1920 by 1080 image... so the image on the screen showed something less than the full 1920 by 1080 pattern; in other words, the full pattern was clipped a little bit.

In it's spec, the pixel BIT DEPTH is 8-bit. If it means that for three colors, the total bit-depth is 24-bit, say, 4-million colors?
