"Best available today 1080p hdmi input and display"
Pros: Amazing picture, future technology protection
Cons: None that would have dismayed me.
Summary: Why buy a hdtv that is already obsolete? HP was very forward thinking of the consumer when they made this tv available. I bought one sight unseen at hpshopping.com. Got delivered around Christmas. I would have paid double for the pride and joy it gives me and knowing I'm ready for 1080p inputs from bluray or hd-dvd means I won't have to buy another tv when it arrives. Gotta love it...and yes, jaw dropping 2 million pixels. Only the Sony xbr offers that display but why they would not have incorporated 1080p input is beyond me. Love my HP.

I just purchased one from HP myself and hope I like it as much as you. I bought a CRT 1080i Mitsubishi in 10/05 it is crap. Ebay here it comes. As far as the Sony input they are going to have it this summer with the new XBR's, the present XBR's are already scheduled to be discontinued in 6/06. My dad bought the 50" XBR in 12/05 and was furious, Sony tech told him wasn't 1080p it just copied the interlaced 540 and projected and mirrored 540/540 vertical lines to achieve a 1080p perception. He returned it for a Samsung HLR5678 and loves it.
