"DO NOT BUY LG THEY BREAK DOWN IN LESS THAN 2.5 years"
Pros: The initial quality, and for those owners out there, don't get used to it. All I have left is video, surround sound quit, HDDVD player quit. Their product will for sure disappoint you and leave you scratching your head thinking...
Cons: The LGe customer "service" is absolutely terrible and makes me want to cut my hand off and poke myself in the eye with my index finger with my now disconnected hand. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS, they are overpriced, they WILL break down within 3 years...
Summary: Don't get me wrong the initial quality is enticing and trickery at best.
1. Conveniently for the distributor and LG my TV began its' self destruction 8 days after my 2 year extended warranty.
2. First, the picture-in-picture, on my LG HDTV, feature quit working. (2 yr. 8 days after purchase)
3. The $600 LG HD DVD player no longer plays DVDs (2 yr. and approx. 1 mo after purchase)
4. The LG surround sound subwoover/reciever went out (2yr, 2 mo).
5. The HD inputs on the LG "HD"TV quit working (2 yr, 2.5 mo after purchase)
6. All other HDMI, S-VIDEO, etc. inputs quit working (2 yr, 3 mo)
7. I bet you're thinking well you atleast still watch tv and you'd be right, but I have to run my cable input through a new reciever because all of the audio on the LG tv quit working all together.
I now have an LG tv that shows video through just one input, no audio, who needs sound anyhow.
$3000 - LG TV... you know where that went in less than 30 months of mild use.
$750 surround sound and LG hd dvd player.... not working
$500 extended warranty plan.... worthless
I called customer service at LG and they did not seem a bit concerned at all that they may be losing one customer. The company stated that the TV was "used up" I kid you not. "used up''? They told me that it probably was at the end of the road. I told them any future business from me and anyone else seeking advice on what product to buy... is the end of the road. I will never purchase one single LG product in my life. If you want to spend approximately $4250 on a "state of the art" or "top of the line product" that does not even function after 2.5 years, then LG is the product for you and I wish you luck. IF YOU DREAM OF OWNING A NICE TV THAT WILL LAST, RUN FROM LG PRODUCTS. THIS IS NOT A HATE REVIEW I SIMPLY STATED THE FACTS AND I DO NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GET BLIND SIDED BY THE IRRESPONSIBILITY OF THIS COMPANY TO PUT FORTH A QUALITY/DURABLE PRODUCT.
NEVER BUY LG, GIVE THE MONEY TO CHARITY AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF, BECAUSE LG ISN'T OFFERING TO HELP ME AT ALL, BUT THEY DID POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF TWO TV PLACES THAT WOULD FIX IT FOR LESS THAN $1500. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE SEARCHING FOR AN LG TV OR PRODUCT FOR THAT MATTER, PLEASE STEER THEM IN A BETTER DIRECTION, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS EMAIL ME AT s230301@nwmissouri.edu and I will thoroughly explain anything I left out.
LG has lost a customer and hopefully more to come. Protect your family's wealth or your personal wealth and invest in other places.
