"Technology Marches On - Great Use of Laser" on by DCCSYR
Pros: I've had a 60" Sony Bravia for over two years and continued to love the picture. I only became discontent with the opportunity to view this set Mitsubishi gives me sharper detail, darker blacks, and more vivid color.
Cons: Only the price - but once you start watching...
Summary: Truly in the stratosphere of monitors. Don't know when there will be any significant volume of 3-D programming, but that's not why I bought this. When reading reviews, see who rates this unit poorly due to price. Almost exclusively, it is non-owners. If you can't afford this, there are wonderful sets for a couple thousand dollars less. But, if you can afford it, read the reviews of us owners - no one is disappointed.
After living with the LaserVue for several months, let me add this. This television's clarity and blacks still impress me. The vividness of the color was slightly excesssive, resolved by a slight decrease in color level. I'm still very happy with it and recommend it, especially if it can be had for $4-5K (I admit $7K is excessive.)
The size is as large as I need. Add my 7.1 sound system and I don't want to watch movies at a theater. Heck, I am even likely to attend fewer games in person. My place - game's on.
