"Beautiful clear picture totaly satisfied" on by Waverider1
Pros: Bright, Clear, Many options
Cons: I have no cons for this set
Summary: I could not be happier. I bought the DLP first and returned it. Picture had way too much glare and I have a bright room which made the DLP hard to see. With the bright enhancement of the LCD it makes the picture incredible no matter what kind of light you have in your room. I have had Big screens tube Tv's and projection as well a flat panel and have yet to find a better picture than this Mitsubishi..

"I know why this was an "Open Box"" on by Shivatis
Pros: Tons of input jacks. Easy Setup
Cons: Sensitive to surrounding light, viewing angles horrible.
Summary: I purchased this set from Sound Advice (Tweeter), as an "open-box". The Salesman told me it was returned after the Super bowl, and now I know why. If you are not sitting directly in front of the set at eye level, the corners of the screen are dark. If you sit below the set on the floor, you can almost see the lamp inside. Have any external sunlight coming in from a window?
Then forget watching anything. I really wanted to like this model, but in the end it was a 52" disappointment.
I returned it to Tweeter and got the 42" Panny Plasma ED from Best Buy. The Service plan was 1/2 of what Tweeter charged, and the picture is just as good as the Mitzu. at a 3rd of the resolution. -
"Wonderful picture quality but some minor deficiencies" on by rlandres1
Pros: Beautiful, bright, clear picture; excellent, free phone tech. support
Cons: Non-intuitive set-up, larger and heavier than some equivalent DLP sets, very slow channel switching with cable card
Summary: I purchased this LCD set (instead of a Samsung DLP of equivaqent size) because the screen was brighter, the color more intense, the image just as sharp, and black level just as dark. I bought the WD-52528 instead of the 52527 because I could see enough difference in picture quality due to the additional processing circuitry in the the higher priced model to justify its somewhat higher price. Despite the very detailed manual, initial set-up was complicated and time consuming, requiring several calls to Mitsubishi tech support -- which, however, was easily accessed by phone, very helpful, and free. Now configured, the set has been easy to use and the picture looks as good in my home as it did in the showroom.
However, I agree with other reviewers that cable card performance is unsatisfactory owing to agonizingly slow channel switching and the very cumbersome on-screen TV Guide that one is relegated to using when cable card operation is chosen. As a result, I, too, abandoned the free cable card for a $5.00 per month Comcast Hi-def. cable box, which remedied these deficiences and is therefore well worth the small, ongoing additional cost. I doubt that anyone considering purchase of a TV of this quality and cost will be satisfied with its cable card performance and would suggest that they plan from the getgo to retain their cable box (or satellite box) connection. -
"Fantastic picture quality" on by obxmom
Pros: So Clear and wonderful colors
Cons: Had to get a tech to fine tune the color
Summary: I am very happy with this set. We did however have to get a technition to fine tune the color and brightness but after he did it made all the difference in the world. It is amazing to me how sharp the picture is on this compared to our plazma which seems to get a glare.
