"1080p HDTV of choice compared to Samsung's HL-R5668 1080p"
Pros: Excellent video quality and easy to use setups.
Cons: The 52" costs about the same as a Samsung 56"
Summary: For weeks I was going back and forth between whether to get the Samsung HL-R5668 or the Mitsubishi 52627 or 52628. From the online specs for each of the TVs, I tended to lean towards the Samsung since the specs were more detailed. I also liked the casing and overall asthetics of the Samsung too. When the TVs finally got into the stores I did a side be side comparison. Both have impressive video quality from an HD broadcast. But the true measure of the performance was to see how they handled a regular broadcast signal. The Mitsubishi HDTV won outright. The Samsung TV was graining and left me very disappointed. The picture on the Mitsubishi was very clear and impressive.
The new stands for the 52627/8 models are also impressive. The TV's sit flush inside of them. Plus, there is more room on the shelving for audio & video equipment than there is on the stand for the Samsung TV.
So if you have to have the bigger TV (which I orginally wanted), get the HL-R5668, you'll be happy with it. If you want to get the TV with the best picture, even though it is slighly smaller (hardly noticable when the TVs are side-by-side), get the Mitsubishi. You will love it.

Ok, I bought this TV, hooked it up, and brought it back the next day. The quality of this product and the cost of this TV just dont compliment each other. It's too expensive and there are other DLP TV manufacturers that perform just as well if not better. My friend has a Mitsubishi DLP projection TV thats having picture problems. I just wanna watch HDTV on a descent screen. I refused to take the risk on an expensive TV. It was noisy too, sounded like my refrigerator.

I purchased the Mit after reading your review, but am a bit dissatisfied with the continious buzzing sound coming from the set. Do you have this issue on your TV? I've heard that DLP's can be noisy due to the mirrors, but this is so loud that my wife complained, and she's no audiophile.
