"Great picture: rich colors and so brigt that I turn it down at night. Side-view is tremendous." on by JRL777

Pros: Great picture quality! I opted out of black-enhance option because detail is lost and colors look muted. T.V. provides slide-show directly from memory cards, and photos look great. Has 2 HDMI inputs.

Cons: Standard def. viewing can look unfocused. Sound is adequate but nothing special. Remote has only four buttons that light up and they have no labels on them: rest of remote is in the dark.

Summary: Vast improvement over my 55" high def. CRT rear projection TV. After 4 days, I am still happy with my choice. I took back a Toshiba 62" 720p set after only two days because it had speaker problems--though, when working, the sound was much better than the Mitsubishi's. The picture quality of the Mitsubishi is far superior to the Toshiba. Toshiba's remote was better(the whole thing lit up), and I can't adjust the Mitsubishi's volume down as much as I would like to in the morning--the lowest setting is louder than I'd like. So far I haven't seen any of the dreaded dlp "rainbow effect".

I chose DLP over plasma because I fear pixels going out, burn-in (happened with my CRT rear-projection)and a picture that will dim with time. Also, DLP sets, though bigger, weigh less, cost less and currently have higher resolution capabilities than plasmas I looked at. The viewing angle range of new 1080p sets is much greater than CRT rear projections.

I've had the television for a year now and am still satisfied. Originally, I wrote that I had to turn down the brightness at night--that was a defective lamp. At first the picture was very bright, and then it seemed dim after about six weeks. Then, after I'd had the t.v. for less than two months, there was a loud pop and the sound of breaking glass. The lamp had burned out and shattered. Mitsubishi immediately sent me a new lamp, and now 11 months later, no problems.

If I had to get a new set, though, I would stick with DLP, but choose a set with LEDs instead of a lamp. I would also look for a set that accepted a 1080P singnal, not one that only displays 1080P.

"Mitsubishi 1080p HDTV" on by raza972area

Pros: Gorgeous picture, better viewing angle than other dlp

Cons: very bright only at night =)

Summary: this tv is a very good set if you have the money. the best 1080p set out right now. The contrast is also pretty good and so is the viewing angle. the net command is easy to use and is not complicated. also this tv has good dark scenes and looks awesome with alot of bright scenes. wait til 1080p movies come out your jaw will drop.

"WD-62628 Is Awesome" on by domus.vita

    Pros: Picture Quality, input components

Cons: Price is a bit high

Summary: Yes, it's expensive but if you want a TV that you won't find anything to nitpick about then this is it. I got mine about a month ago and I'm loving it.

"not as good as it should be" on by rw1276

Pros: large screen - Price -

Cons: remote - dark picture quality poor - remote difficult

Summary: I purchased this DLP in the hopes that It would have enough brightness for daytime viewing. I found that the "dark technology" they are advertising is not very good. The sound quality of the speakers is poor, hard to hear voices without a separate home theater system hooked up. Remote is hard to figure out, even with the manual, I had to call tech support to get it set up with my accessories. Tech support was excellent though, answered on the 2nd ring both times....thumbs up to them !! The price was right and if you are looking for a mid grade DLP with a very large screen and are keeping it in a dark environment, it will probably be a good choice for you.

    "Disappointing." on by RommelB

Pros: Bright picture. Picture quality adjusments are excellent.

    Cons: Slow responder. Major problems.

Summary: I was very pleased with the picture quality, satisfied with the sound quality, video adjusments was sweet, but 3 weeks later I returned it the tv. I was disapointed with PIP but I knew its feature before I bought the TV so it's ok. The tv responds very slow. It can take 2+ seconds to switch to a different channel. It's even worst when using the TV guide or TV menu. I thought the tv was damaged so I got it exchanged for another one only to get the same slow tv plus 2 major problems. Sometimes half the screen would turn completely black. Losing everything on the right side of the tv. Reset button did not fix the problem. The worst problem I got was the screen would get orange tint EVERYWHERE! this model has a very nice picture adjusments. But nothing fixed this problem. A tech from the store I bought it from said there's no fixing it and said They'll swap it another one. I didn't give it a third try.
