"Great TV, some issues" on by egalsim

Pros: Beautiful blacks, good number of adjustments, HDMI 1.3, thin frame

Cons: No VGA input, no optical input

Summary: Ordered this TV from Vanns.com. Very good service with free shipping and excellent price.

Performance - startup time took about 30 seconds, so a little slow, but once turned on, it was definitely worth the wait. Right from the box, picture quality was very good with vibrant colors and very little blooming. Once I got to the adjustment menu, it was fairly easy to navigate, just not straightforward. Adjustments include Tint, brightness, contrast which were also specific to each input, meaning it would remember the settings for that particular input. A nice feature was Perfect Tint, which lets you adjust each color: yellow, green, magenta, red, and blue. If your device is connected through hdmi, sound can be output from the TV via a digital coaxial connection. The blacks really impressed, probably due to the Dark Detailer, almost looked like a LCD type of black. Rainbow effects were minimal and can only be viewed by me when looking at a still picture and moving my eye very quickly to the side. Color was very vibrant and whites were decent.

Cons - A little distortion with the sides curving up on the right and left, only noticeable when viewing a straight line that went accross the top of the screen. No adjustment in the menu for this, otherwise the adjustment options would have been perfect.

Overall a very nice TV with alot of bang for the buck.

"I have not seen a better picure on any TV" on by toadias

Pros: The Picture, The Connectivity, The Price

Cons: Setup took some time, Physical Depth vs. flat screen

Summary: I read the CNET review on the WD-65831 in the editors top choices for HDTV. I did not need flat screen and liked the price of DLP instead. So I went to a local store to see if they had the WD-65831. When I asked to see the Mitsubishi 65" they took me to the WD-65734 (unknown to me). I was stunned at the picture.

It was the TV they had setup in their high end theatre room so I figured it was the high end Mitsubishi. Then I asked the price. They listed $1899.00. I whined and got it for $1799.00!

I promise you that it had a better picture then any of the plasma or LCD screens I have seen. It has 3 HDMI inputs, 2 component, and it upconverts to 1080p. The US OPEN golf tournement was almost spooky good and Colts football was to die for.

The Side by Sid picture ROCKS!

Setup of HDMI and sound took a minute because I use my ONKYO receiver for 7.1 sound and HDMI video. I also took a bit to get the side by side picture setup and video sources. But all in all once I did it made the experience easier after that.

The only real complaint is that it takes a minute to shutdown and turn on. But I guess it is protecting itself in some way. I just hate waiting for the TV to shutdown at bed time. How is that for grasping for a complaint.

If you can deal with TV being 24" thick then you can not beat this TV. I cannot for the life of me figure out why someone would spend $700 more for the other Diamond series Mits. or worse yet $2000 more for a flat TV. Most amature home theatre geeks have equipment to ride beside it anyway.

"Ran fast, run far, but run away" on by JimGiblin

    Pros: good picture when working

Cons: Faulty light engine, premature bulb replacement

Summary: 4 premature replacement bulbs, one light engine, my Mitsubishi DLP is just a useless 6'x5' black box at this point. I've been waiting over 3 months for a repair. Parts still backordered due to tremendous amount of failures. Customer service from Mitsubishi is a joke. Check all the forums on all the failures before you buy.

"Absolutely Beautiful! (and huge too :)" on by slinkyi

Pros: Beautiful Picture Quality, awesome blacks in a dark room, low amount of reflectability makes it the best big-screen I have ever owned!!!

Cons: Haven't found them yet! :)

Summary: I found this at Costco with the stand for the tv and it was absolutely beautiful. We have a living room that is bright but at night is extremely dark and we love watching movies. This has the ability to hook up the HDMI ports in the back and works like a charm.

Crisp images, dark blacks, and perfect shading. I have not seen a better image on a 2k tv.

"stopped working 2 times after being fixed" on by nothappytv

Pros: when worked it was nice.

    Cons: stopped working

Summary: We purchased this Mitsubishi TV from Circuit City and within 3 months of our purchase the TV DM Module went out. We contacted Mitsubishi they had someone come out to fix the TV free of charge. This took over a month to get the part and come out and fix the tv. Our Tv went out again 2 months later with the same problem. We are now looking at another month to fix it. So this TV hasn't worked half the time since we bought it.
When we called Circuit City the first time they said it was out of their hand since we didn't buy the 500.00 warranty plan on a brand new tv. When I asked if they could give me numbers to call Mitsubishi they wouldn't they told they couldn't help. So they pretty much sold us a lemon tv. I am very disappointed with Circuit City and will NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. I was treated like dirt when I need help, But they loved us when we dropped the money. SO my point is we spent all this money for a new tv that has never worked. Good luck in buying hope you have better luck then us!
