"Trouble with my unit"
Pros: Great picture
Cons: Intermittent problems; poor Mitsubishi support or caring
Summary: I have owned this Mitsubishi since 9/4/06. It has a great picture with mediocre sound quality.
Started to notice intermittent flaky problems within the first 90 days.
1. Would lose programming of deleted channels and favorites. A real pain to set up channels because there is no channel memorization when using a digital cable card.
2. Would get blue screen saying loss of signal when the signal was never lost.
3. Will intermittently shut off or will not power on.
4. Kept getting airflow blocked error message. Checked airflow intake and it was not blocked. After finding no mention in manual about this and having service tell me that it will be a week before they can come out to fix my now dead Mitsubishi, I removed the lamp and found some light dust build up on one of the lamp filters. Blew it off and that problem is been resolved. Nothing in the manual tells you that this could be a problem.
5. Called Mitsubishi Customer Relations, was told wait time is 84 (eighty four) minutes. Elected to have a call back. Someone called back and told me that someone from tech support will call me on Monday. The phone call never came.
6. Local Mitsubishi repair representative told me that they can only fix the tv if it is dead and CAN NOT fix intermittent problems. What happens on day 366 when it is out of warranty and the problem is no longer intermittent?
Ask yourself, If something is on sale, Is it worth it if you're going to have nothing but problems with it?
My experience trying to get satisfactory warranty work has been less than satisfactory.Updated
As previously stated, I have experience numerous problems w/ this unit approximately 90 days after purchased. I travel allot and have not had the chance to have it repaired.
Finally after experiencing the ?air flow blocked? error message and shutting off a couple times a day, I had to make the time to get it fixed. My local warranty repair center came and got it on May 22nd and kept it for 16 days.
After doing an internet search for the ?air flow blocked? error message, I discovered that others have experienced this problem and it came down to a failed sensor, sensor connector, or logic board failure.
Ten days after the unit being serviced, it is turning on every time I turn it on, and staying on. This unit has a fabulous picture and mediocre sound.
If you choose to purchase this unit or any other Mitsubishi product, just hope that you do not experience any problems with it because actual Mitsubishi support is non-existent.Updated
Almost one year from the original problems and six months since its repair, the unit would not power on this morning twice w/o having to hit the reset button.

We had the same problem with the Air Flow message. We are unable to watch are TV. Took the back off and blew the lamp area still does not work. Can not get no one to come and fix it. It is still under the manufactured warranty and the extended warranty. Mitisbushi has not returned any of are calls. Great customer service... Circuit City is going to exchange the TV. We dont know what to do. What happens when the this TV breaks down..

Got the temperature message when set turned on. It had to be a bad sensor, since the lamp has not yet heated up when message indicated! Called selling dealer and tech was out next day. He replaced the sensor and soldered connection. Really easy no hassle repair, and set has stunning image quality.

There is a well known problem with the sensor for the lamp. It is positioned improperly and the contacts need to be cleaned, not just re-seated.
They might even have a replacement sensor available. -
We experienced the same intermittent error messages.
We had a Mitsubishi Service Repairman come out to repair the set. He took the back cover off and re-seated a few sensors and the problems are gone (that was about 6 months ago). He was at the house about 5 minutes.
We are very pleased with the television! -
We had the same intermittent error message.
I had a Mitsubishi Service Tech come out. He took the back panel off re-seated a couple of sensors and the error messages are gone. Took about 5 minutes!
That was about 6 months ago and not one problem since.
Picture is perfect and we are very pleased with this television.
