"Diamonds are a man's best friend"
Pros: Great picture
Cons: Color points slightly off
Summary: I purchased this set after selling my Sony 70" XBR 2. I was a bit nervous since my Sony had such a good picture. "Put your fears aside".. this TV is outstanding. The picture is sharp. I wish they had a medium brightness control and you will need to self calibrate just to get your colors a little more to your liking. After that...BINGO you are ready to watch HD content. I quickly realizing these RPTV's are really built to take full advantage of HD material. The Mits WD 65833 really pulls every pixel it can out of HD. HDDVD and BLU-RAY look stunning. If you watch alot of HD. Watch it on this set!

Jack,
I took interest in your post because I was looking for a Sony 70" XBR2 to replace my troubled 65" Hewlett Packard set. I couldn't find a dealer with the XBR2 in stock so I considered the Mitsubishi sets (carried by Costco).
That said, why would you go from Sony to Mitsu? Also, I've heard about reliability and customer service issues from Mitsu. Any experiences or thoughts in these areas?
Thanks,
James
