  • "Unbelievably amazing picture! I'm speechless!"

Pros: This tv has an incredible picture, so crystal clear, bright, and sharp, it feels like I'm really there. I got this tv for a STEAL at $1679, and honestly, it is worth twice that. It's HUGE, it's fantastic, and I wish I had another for my bedroom.

Cons: Absolutely none. Not even one single complaint. A note, the user's manual is very short, but that's because the tv is so incredibly simple to use, it is really just a quick-start guide. No cons, no complaints, nothing bad to say about this tv.

Summary: This tv is kind of made for stupid people: Hookup is simple, taking 20 seconds. Programming is simple, taking 40 seconds. 60 seconds after you take it out of the box, you are watching the sharpest, brightest (and I have mine set to "Natural", as opposed to "Brilliant", and even the bright morning sun pouring into my living room can't make the picture fade), clearest, nicest picture I've ever seen. For comparison, I also own an Apex 43" HD, and an older 60" Mitsubishi rear projection from 1994. This tv has just a heart-stopping, breath-taking picture. Watching shows like "Survivor", with the beautiful scenery, my wife and I both comment at the same time "would you just LOOK at that picture!" The set is light enough that I picked it up (with a broken back 3 years ago) and set it on a credenza all by myself. Setup is fast, setting options is fast, and then WOW! I rated this tv 5 stars. That's all I was allowed to give it. I would have given it 10 out of 5 if I could have. My parents own the same tv, but a year earlier model, and they are absolutely in love with theirs, too. Since I purchased mine, and my parents got theirs, none of us have paid for a movie theater ticket. That says something. Mine is hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-1019 AH-K reciever (880 watts, 7.1 digital surround), and with my couch about 9 feet away, I honestly feel that I'm in the nicest movie theater around. My idiot brother, who thinks he knows everything there is to know about home theater, insisted that I'd get eye strain. Never happened, and I've watched that tv for 14 hours straight (Band of Brothers). True, my set is in a small living room (about 19' x 14'), and true, it really stands out, and true, people's jaws drop when they see the sheer size of this goliath, but every single person that has seen it is not only impressed by it's size (great ego boost), but everyone is amazed at the picture brightness and clarity. Mine is hooked up to a cable box that only runs at 1080i, but it is still completely breath-taking to watch. I would buy this tv again if it was $2500, it's that awesome to watch. I also found a few places on the net to get replacement bulbs (they do burn out, but after about 8000 hours or 4 years) at very cheap prices. You can also brag that there are only really 2 tv's available to consumers larger than this one. I heartily recommend this tv to anyone looking to purchase a new set. Don't fork out $2000 on a 50", don't fork out $2500 on a 65". Go big or go home! 73" of amazing for $1600, no tax, free shipping, and the driver was even nice enough to help me carry it into the house. I absolutely LOVE this set!

Great review. I'm considering buying this TV as well. Can you tell me from which retailer you purchased it for "1600, and no tax"?
    Thanks.
